 It was just a dog fight every possession. It wasn't pretty. It was a real defensive battle. In the end, I'm just glad we came out on top.

 We'd get close, then we'd make a bad decision or not be able to finish off a defensive possession with a rebound and things like that. They'd go from up one to five; then we'd have to fight back. It was just an uphill battle all night.

 It wasn't pretty, but we got it done. They gave us a fight today. I'm not real happy with our performance. We struggled. We're a young team. We had to overcome some mistakes to do it.

 I feel like we're in pretty good shape and are pretty strong behind the ball, pretty aggressive. Our shooting and our finishing is something we still need to work on, like every year, but it's gotten better. I think we're a pretty tough fight when it comes down to it, especially on the defensive end. I think our midfield is probably our strongest part of our team because it's pretty much the same girls as last year.  I didn't say what I said to be controversial just because most people are picking the Patriots to win. I consider myself a pretty good judge of talent when it comes to defensive linemen and the Panthers' biggest strength is their defensive line. You win the battle of the trenches and that goes a long way to winning the game.

 Somebody's gonna win; somebody's gonna lose. The thing is, are you there to fight at the battle? Some people don't even get to fight at the battle. As long as you get to the battle, you've got a chance.

 There wasn't any real pressure going into the fight other than what I put on myself. Mentally, I just take one fight at a time.

 We like to think of ourselves as a pretty good defensive team. But there was a premium put on a every possession in a game like this and we had too many ineffective possessions when each one means so much.

 Sometimes Rudy's problem is he has trouble within a possession staying solid, especially on the defensive end for the entire possession.

 It was two good teams and one possession difference in the game. We could have used one more possession. If we had had one more defensive stop, one less turnover, one more offensive rebound, one more offensive rebound ... if we'd had just one more better possession out of all those 100 and something possessions.

 We're going to fight this battle and try to get this decision reversed. It wouldn't be in our blood to tuck our tails and not fight back. As far as me not being around here, if I get offered a job that is available now then it would be in my best interest to take what is a sure thing. I would hate to stick around here, fight the good fight and not get reinstated. Then where would I be, unemployed!

 Every soldier must know, before he goes into battle, how the little battle he is to fight fits into the larger picture, and how the success of his fighting will influence the battle as a whole.

 It was a defensive battle throughout. (Columbia) just got the hot hand. We're real proud of our seniors and what they accomplished this year.

 In the stages of growing and developing that teamwork and trust for each other on the defensive end of the floor, you have to help them believe that you're going to get there. It's not just the (wins). They can see the results in different possessions. And as they gain confidence possession by possession, they see themselves beating good teams.
