 Cleaner cars require emissions control systems that work, and prompt measures to fix emission-related defects when they occur. This case demonstrates EPA's commitment to ensuring that automobile manufacturers comply with their emission-defect reporting and emission system obligations under the Clean Air Act.

 The best way to address concerns about mercury emissions from U.S. power plants is to leave the existing regulations in place. Sending E.P.A. back to the drawing board would only delay regulation of power plant emissions, not accelerate them, as Senator Leahy and others claim.

 The project upgrades will significantly reduce plant emissions and increase plant output, allowing Greenville Steam Company to provide significant supplies of clean and competitively priced renewable power. The Greenville investment comes at a pivotal time with increasing cost of electricity in New England as well as rising clean energy requirements in the region.

 Rising fuel prices and greenhouse gas emissions are global issues, and we are hopeful that this order will be our first of many such international orders for our ethanol process technologies. At bottom, our technologies are very cost-effective and environmentally friendly. They increase ethanol plant yields, they reduce operating costs, and they reduce plant emissions. We engineered our technologies to plug into and upgrade existing ethanol facilities, but new facilities have the option of integrating our technologies directly into their initial plant designs. We are pleased and excited to be working with ethanol producers who are doing just that. Ethanol Africa is progressive company and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with them on their first and future ethanol facilities.

 We believe that the key to success is to continue manufacturing top quality products for our customers. Everyone in our plant agrees with that 100 percent, and we're going to do everything we can to ensure a positive future for our plant.

 Extending emissions trading to the aviation sector will limit these emissions and ensure that aviation, like all other sectors, contribute to reducing the harmful greenhouse gases. Through emission trading, airlines will be able to do so at the least possible costs.

 Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness.

 Dangerous global warming will be impossible to avoid if the conventional coal-fired power plants now on the drawing boards are completed. Although there is growing recognition among voters, members of Congress, and power company executives that enforceable emission limits are essential to drive the market for available low emission technologies, many still don't understand the urgency. The sooner we act the better it will be for consumers, companies, and the climate.

 This is the first data being collected anywhere in the country under a new national air quality monitoring program. Monitoring at other locations will get under way in 2006, but we're setting the stage for future poultry and other livestock production facility air emissions monitoring under this program.

 Last week the Security Council sent a very clear statement to the regime, and said, 'Comply with your obligations, come clean'. You have 30 days to come clean, make a commitment to come clean and comply with your obligations, or we're going to back at the Security Council consulting about next steps to take.

 Not only has the U.S. failed to take meaningful steps to clean up mercury power plant emissions at home, but they have consistently blocked international discussions that could have already led to global agreements on reducing mercury pollution.

 Motor vehicles are New York's fastest growing source of greenhouse gas emissions. The vehicles that will be affected by these new rules account for about 35 percent of global warming pollution in the state. That's why we are here today, speaking in support of the new rules and introducing some of our Capital Region neighbors who already own low emission cars.

 Under the old rule, nearly all feedlots were required to have a permit. Now most only need to register, but still must comply with laws and rules to protect water quality. This allows us to focus on priorities while reducing paperwork both for producers and the agency.

 Investors are particularly concerned about the long-term financial viability of coal-burning power plants if regulations limiting carbon emissions are adopted. Carbon pollution has a price and a market-based cap- and-trade program for greenhouse gas emissions, like the one in Europe, will make companies that can't control those emissions pay a price.
