We have boys on gezegde

 We have boys on the team who are borderline scholarship kids. If the right coach saw them, they might get an offer. For the other boys, it's an experience -- traveling, going to new places, meeting other people. When it comes to development in sports, you want to play against people who are better than you.

 The whole family is involved in sports. Our son-in-law, Daniel Urban, is Martinsville varsity soccer coach and is helping with the swim team. Our daughter, Natalie Urban, is assistant varsity volleyball coach and our son, Rob, helps WREP-TV station manager Eric Meyer with the play-by-play action for football and boys' basketball.

 My wife said this was supposed to be a steppingstone, and we've been here 22 years. The kids play only because they love it. If they leave early, it is only to chase other goals in academics. You don't have to worry about who is on scholarship and who is not on scholarship. It changes the atmosphere both in the meeting rooms and on the field. You give up the lights and a little money just to coach this.

 There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

 Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

 I still say a lot of people don't think that kids in Iowa can play basketball. People just think that we're farm boys and we like corn. It's kind of funny, but that's just the way it goes.

 The honor for me is that these boys allowed me to coach them. These 12 boys allowed this female to coach them. That is what everyone is missing. The honor is being able to see these kids get to a championship game, not to be the first woman to get here.

 For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes.  We're going to have to play better than we did tonight. Jackson, they looked probably better than anybody in the tournament out there tonight. I coached under (Jackson coach) Darrin (Scott) at Notre Dame. I know how good of a coach he is, how well he prepares and so hopefully my boys can outplay his boys. That's what it's going to come down to.

 We hope to have our boys play this tournament. Hopefully by next week, we should have a team of five varsity boys.

 The two teams are in different places. The girls are senior heavy and talented. The boys have raw talent. We don't know which way it'll go, but we'll be deeper with the boys.

 I never see any difference in boys. I only know two sorts of boys. Mealy boys and beef-faced boys.

 There is a long history of people gathering in the same spot at the same time every week, or after work. A new guy could come in and see what the latest news was and what's going on in sports. Before people had TV and telephones it was one of the only meeting places we had; one of the only places to go and get local news.

 In the boys, Jamestown could have five in the top 13. After that, it's a logjam. There's a wider spread of boys from different schools. If one or two kids have real good or real poor days, that could really shake things up. Depth is our strength there. We believe our boys have a good shot at second.

 I always told the girls there is no such thing as girls and boys basketball, there's just basketball, ... I told them to be physical and block out. There is only one way to play the game. One of the reasons is hopefully I was non-sexist. I taught them to play the game the same way I taught the boys. We were one of the first teams to play up-and-down, in-your-face defense. I used the same approach with the girls as I did with the boys' team.
