 Right after we saw (last week's) accident, we were both transported back to the events of two years ago. Then Bruce said to me 'we were spared for a reason.' We both know what it is.

One month before our accident a man was killed there, and one week before our accident there was another accident. In all there were eight people killed in a period of seven years at this one particular crossing before gates and lights were installed.

 There is no way of telling if there is going to be a mass casualty incident or if it is going to be a normal typical day when someone just needs to be transported to the hospital. If we have a car accident involving more than two patients, then we have a problem.

 There is absolutely no reason to believe that this was anything other than an accident - a very tragic accident, but an accident.

 Bruce is one great baseball mind. During the year, I went to him a lot for advice. Bruce was relied upon by a lot of players on the team. If there's anyone I don't want to see go, it's Bruce Fields.

 Katie wasn't very far off her school record (3,254). Katie had a pretty hard week. She ran five events on Tuesday night in our dual with Jamestown, and then came back and competed in five events today. If Katie isn't sore tomorrow, I don't know if she will ever be. That was a good score for her today considering how much she's competed this week.

 He just draws stuff up for Bruce. He stays on top of Bruce on and off the field. When he found out Bruce was going to go in the game, he was coaching him up on the sideline. He also coaches him up in practice.

 There's got to be some reason why he was spared. Every day when I come to see him it's a miracle.

 If this was my life every week, I would never retire. Knowing as low as I was last year, that I can come back and be playing this well, is a great feeling. Now doing it in front of the friends that got me back to where I am now, keeping me upbeat during some down times ... it just makes me feel good and is yet another reason why I have started to believe that everything happens for a reason.

 He's a gift from God. He's spared for a reason, and I'm really grateful.

 Bruce Hall made some strides at running back. We moved him there earlier in the week, because we needed depth at that position. We saw he could run the ball when he was at quarterback. He is a tough kid.

 Boats are historically a very safe mode of transportation, ... Those boats on Lake George - both large and small - have run together every day for 30 years. It sounds to me like it was exactly the wrong combination of events that led to an unpredictable accident.
