 Up until now, we've done little but complain. Until now, we've stood by, watching native habitat disappear, and with it wildlife of all types. Instead of doing something, we've come to accept our present situation as inevitable and tolerable.

 Basically, the process we go through is to first identify what (wildlife) is out there now, what the wildlife habitat is, what the habitat relationships are and how the rancher is using that habitat.

 Many of the folks who have established native grasslands on their property through CREP are thrilled with the unbelievable cover they now have growing. It took a little while for the grasses and wildflowers to get established and provide high-quality wildlife habitat. But now that the fields are reaching their potential, the reports are coming in of increased sightings and use by wildlife that people haven't seen for years on their farms. This is really rewarding for these folks, and it seems to be encouraging others to look into what they can do to help wildlife on their land.

 Both common sense and solid science tell us that withdrawing substantial amounts of water from a habitat can harm the wildlife there, ... The Fish and Wildlife Service acknowledged this fact in their own early Grand Prairie reviews [in 2001], noting that changing the hydrology in the Cache River and White River National Wildlife refuges will affect 'overall habitat values there.'

 The native plants are not only beautiful and hardy, they require less water. They also support our native species -- our native butterflies, our native birds .. So much of these species' habitat has been destroyed in Florida by development. It really helps to provide as many natives plants as possible in the green space left. They are precious areas.

 We would have no regulatory authority over anything other than native wildlife. This would throw our whole wildlife-integrity plan into chaos.

 It?s like scotch broom ? an introduced exotic species. We can?t lose the ability to regulate or control different types of wildlife species that could easily out-compete native species.

 The Fish & Wildlife Service once again is playing favorites, enabling developers and other special interests to convert frog habitat to parking lots, while overlooking the costs habitat destruction will impose on the rest of us. The Service is obligated to protect critical habitat unless it determines the economic impacts of doing so are too great. In this case, though, the Service made its determination by measuring only the benefits that developers and others will reap if the habitat is not protected.

 We do encourage native plants because they've evolved with native wildlife over eons.

 Basically, any non-native animal is going to prey on or displace native wildlife, compete for food and water and whatnot. We regard them as a type of pollution.

 What has made Middle Creek so vital to waterfowl is its habitat diversity. Middle Creek is a shining example of progressive wildlife management. Through wildlife plantings, habitat enhancements, and wetland creation and manipulation, Middle Creek has been molded into an area that now rivals the Susquehanna River in waterfowl appeal. It has evolved into a waterfowl oasis in a section of the Atlantic Flyway dominated by intensive farming and development.

 The purpose of the chair is to help to close the gap between the knowledge of wildlife science and the implementation of wildlife policy. Dr. Peterson's professional experience with environmental conflict resolution on such topics as energy, air quality, water quality and use, land use, cultural attitudes about natural resources and wildlife habitat conservation on private lands make her a first-rate choice for this new position.

 The purpose of the chair is to help to close the gap between the knowledge of wildlife science and the implementation of wildlife policy, .. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. . Dr. Peterson's professional experience with environmental conflict resolution on such topics as energy, air quality, water quality and use, land use, cultural attitudes about natural resources and wildlife habitat conservation on private lands make her a first-rate choice for this new position.

 And the habitat is our responsibility. We try to manage all the uses on a site - grazing, wildlife, cultural resources. It's a lot easier to manage habitat if you have a bigger parcel.

 You get to see things like what species are attracted to certain habitat. You'll also see what types of habitat the come to when they do come back.
