 The two big plays in the first half put us in a hole, but once we adjusted we got our first score and got our confidence back.

 It had a great effect on the game. But the key was the two we scored going into the wind in the first half. In the second half we settled down. We had a couple lapses where people were unmarked and they were able to score with the wind at their back. We adjusted after halftime and moved the ball real well.

 We did a better job in the second half of getting into position to stop their offense and came up with some big plays. But we put ourselves into too big of a hole in the first half and couldn't come all the way back. We tried to get some momentum, but they made sure we didn't.

 Stagg is a well coached team. We went to a trap and they adjusted and then we went to man-to-man and they adjusted again. I had hoped we could get a cushion because you knew they would come back. Williams did it when Rush wasn't shooting well lately, but they were on him and didn't give him many good looks. But when he started to score, it opened up things for the others.

 One goal against Rogers is never enough. We were in a little bit of a hole there (in the first half). But I thought we played better in the second half. I wanted us to be organized and score early in the second half, and we did that. A tough game like this will help us at state.

 That's not unusual for a player to lose concentration if certain phases of the game go wrong for him. He put some pressure on himself to score. All players want to score as a part of their game. . . . I don't know where his confidence is. You either have it or you don't have it. It doesn't reside in your jockstrap or your brain. His confidence should be in his defense. That's where he plays and rebounds and hustles for us.

 You don't win a basketball game in the first half, but you certainly can lose one. We just dug too deep of a hole. We were just trying to get back into the game and they just answered everything. A lot of those plays were huge.

 We tried to focus on cutting down mistakes (in the second half), ... We made some plays and adjusted our defense to be more aggressive.

 They were definitely a better team today. We got hammered pretty good there in the first half. We battled back to get it to a one-score game at 27-20 . . . then they made the plays they had to.

 We struggled in the first half and we put ourselves in a hole. That's something we've been struggling with the whole year. When you put yourself in a hole against a good team, it's going to be hard to fight back.

 A lot of it confidence. This team is starting to know that it is good but if we don't score, we tend to get anxious. It's hard to stay focused. But I thought we got it back and played well in the second half.

 They got fired up. They adjusted on the draw control and they got a couple transition goals. We were on our heels for a minute, and we didn't get back up there quick enough until the second half. They really took advantage of the last two minutes of the half.

 Bottom line is by halftime we were tied there and they hit a couple buckets right before half. They jumped on us in a hurry and that's the biggest concern with them. They come out and you look at what they do to teams, they have gigantic first quarters and have them in such a hole that they don't ever recover. Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character. But we did a good job of regrouping and responding. I knew if we'd get close there at the half we had a shot to stay with it. You can't give up (that many) points in the first half. That's not the kind of score we wanted.

 We definitely showed a lot of character and resiliency to come back. But Toledo's pressure defense put us in a big hole in the first half. We had 14 turnovers in the first half and we finished the game with 16. That's why we fell so far behind and that's why we were able to come back.
