It was tough to gezegde

It was tough to finish fourth, but overall the girls did a good job. I can't be negative at all. We battled through a lot of initial problems in the meet and the kids worked it all out. We still have some kids recovering from illness and injuries. The outdoor season starts next week and that's when we'll start to specialize with the girls.

We went into this meet missing five girls due to illness or injury. We didn't know really how we would handle this. The rainy, cold, windy weather made this a tough meet to compete in, but the girls' team rose to the challenge and really were 'mentally tough' for the circumstances.

Our girls have run well all season. And they continue to do so, despite losing some of our top runners to injuries. We had some kids step up and run well. It was really a team effort this time for the girls.

I think it's been a good thing for kids. It exposes them to outdoor things that not all kids might get to try. It's fun to see the girls fishing.

Some of these girls are recovering from injuries, so our performance will depend on how fast we can get them healthy...and keep them healthy. Because we'll have to use a slow progression for some of the girls, I don't expect us to really round into shape until the end of the season.

No, actually, they're OK. They know the story of the girls basketball team. They kept talking about it, about how the girls lost big at the start of the season, but they kept at it, and they won in the end. The kids know they need practice now, but they believe they can get better. They believe they can win.

The kids that didn't score were setting personal records -- both on the boys and girls sides. The younger kids are surprising us every meet. Those kids that did score, obviously had a good meet.

I think the girls worked hard all year and swam a wonderful time today. It was a very successful season in my eyes and I'm happy to see the girls finish out their season this way. Hopefully, this is something we can continue to do in the years to come.

Coming off the preseason we had some injuries so we just chose to put our girls in JV because it's early in the season. We had three of our top seven runners out and a few still recovering.

You know, most of these girls were in third, fourth, fifth grade. Even at that age, though, they experienced the excitement of going down to Indy with their parents. That's where these things start, you know? That's when kids start dreaming.

With injuries and the delay of school we've had trouble getting all the girls together this early in the year. Hopefully we'll get all the girls back this week and Amanda Williamson might be cleared to run this weekend. And we're still trying to recruit some girls to come out.

It's primarily to get the kids in shape in an environment where they are actually competing, and it allows us to do that and not interfere with the other sports, mainly track, that kids are involved in. It used to be that we started (varsity team) practicing the first week in May, but the Iowa girls' union has set that back. I think May 15 is our start date this year and our first game is May 31. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection.  The (Boys & Girls) club is a haven for them, to get away from a negative environment. It provides great opportunities for kids. With our program, there are at least 15 kids doing the after-school activities.

We have had a string of girls out with various forms of illness and injuries. You just have to hope that you get these things out of the way early in the year and then go into the rest of the season ready to go.

I think these girls, especially our seniors are overachievers. They met their potential, and that's all you can ask for. They battled from the start of the season to the end. We just ran into a really good Garden Plain team.
