It's hard to win gezegde

 As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. It's hard to win when you strike out 12 times. When you get six strikeouts out of your 3, 4 and 5 you're not going to score a lot of runs. It's hard to beat out a strikeout. It's dependent on the catcher missing the ball. They were hitting lasers and we were hitting air.

 C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

 This is the best I've felt in terms of hitting the ball hard. Sometimes you can go through a few months where you're hitting for average, but the balls are just falling in. I feel I'm hitting it hard. Most of it was just correcting some flaws in my swing.

 Morris and Cooper both hit the ball hard and drove in runs. Cooper has been swinging a hot bat and hitting the ball extremely well. Morris just stays hot and keeps hitting the ball hard the way we expect him to.

 Pat is doing well and giving us a lot of quality at-bats. He's cut down on his strikeouts quite a bit and he's hitting more line drives. The hard work has him hitting close to .400 this season.

 As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

 From what I saw in Spring Training, we were scoring runs and guys were hitting the ball pretty hard, and it showed tonight. I was hearing from a lot of people that we didn't score a lot of runs, so I think we shocked a lot of people today.

 Odds are when they bring the infield in that you're going to get one through there sometime eventually. We hit it hard right at them a couple of times. We had a chance to score a few more runs than we did, but they made plays, and we didn't get all the timely hitting we needed.

 We're coming on after a little bit of a slow start. We're hitting the ball hard. We're doing more situational hitting in practice, working on hitting in certain counts. Overall, it's just more of a focus up at the plate.

 Really the last couple of times out we've really done a much better job of pitch selection with our hitting. We are hitting pitches we can hit hard instead of wasting at bats on stuff that is crappy. We've really looked very disciplined at the plate mentally and the results are you are going to hit the ball harder.

 As long as I was hitting the ball hard and hitting it deep, our rallies were not that long. ... There was one way to beat her, and that was to be aggressive first.

 I've been hitting the ball hard. I've hit it hard and gotten out a few times. You go through that, but the important thing is that you keep going with the approach that works for you and hopefully they'll fall more times than they don't.

 I was always brought up to be patient at the plate. That's the approach I've always taken to hitting. That may be why he said that -- I take a lot of pitches. I might strike out 100 or however many times a year, but my walks to strikeouts about evens out.

 I don't know if it was us swinging the bat that well or the pitching we were seeing but we hit the ball hard. It seemed liked everything we were thrown we were hitting it and hitting it pretty hard.

 We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.
