More than 50 million people need not apply for one of Al Gore's targeted tax cuts.

 There's no doubt that the effect of the tax cuts . . . have been an enormous factor in producing the additional income that has found its way now into the federal treasury,

 The idea that the Federal Reserve is close to being done with interest rate hikes has certainly benefited the bond market, and stocks have benefited as well.

 Low-income Canadians benefit relatively little from these tax cuts, yet they may be hurt a great deal when child care and other programs are cut to pay for tax cuts that largely benefit high-income families.

 The households that will benefit from these two tax cuts are quite well off, and furthermore they've already benefited handsomely from the other tax cuts that have been enacted [since 2001].

 I think it's very important that Americans understand... tax cuts are always popular, but about half of these tax cuts since 2001 have gone to people in my income group, the top 1 percent. I've gotten four tax cuts. They're responsible for this big structural deficit, and they're not going away, the deficits aren't.

 Missouri could make huge strides by adopting a state version of the Federal False Claims Act. Millions now wasted by (Medicaid) provider fraud would be available to provide health care to low-income Missouri parents, the elderly and those with disabilities. In 2005, approximately 90,000 low-income Missourians lost their health insurance due to cuts in the Medicaid program.

 While every American knows perfectly well that well-heeled lobbyists are manipulating the federal tax code for profit, this panel somehow ignored that reality and substituted cowardly politics for strong action. In the process they employed limited findings and let the American people, as well as President Bush , down.

 President Bush's top priority is the safety and security of the American people. Since September 11, President Bush has restructured and reformed the federal government to focus resources on counterterrorism and to ensure the security of our homeland.

 We're very unhappy about the impact this is going to have on Delaware. The student loan cuts, the cuts in Medicaid. These are all programs that serve low-income Delawareans. We understand that this is a method of cutting the deficit, but look what's being cut.

 While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

 We're delighted to have this opportunity to begin to receive official support from the federal government for the Bush-Cheney transition. This has been a unique time in American political history,

 Welfare and dependency grants, personal income tax relief, and cuts in those costs which would make housing more affordable for middle and low income earners are likely to buoy consumption expenditure, and manufacturing.

 The impacts of the income-tax cuts passed last year are being equated into higher refund payments sent to taxpayers in February. Our state's economy is strong enough to provide for General Fund growth despite the enacted cuts.
