 First of all, we have good ballplayers who play within themselves. No. 2, we have proper chemistry. We have players that enjoy playing together. The support of our community is the No. 3 reason. The Villages Merchants receive funding for entry fees to the various tournaments from local establishments.

 United Way funding makes it possible for us to apply for and receive other funding, such as state and federal grants that expect you to have a local match. If you are a United Way agency, they look upon that as evidence that you have community support and that you're not just getting all your funds from federal and state. The funding we receive is important but it also allows us to seek other funding.

 Clubs will now be able to apply for funding support to improve their facilities, on the proviso they can demonstrate the roles they are playing within their local community and use for the public in any new development.

 It was good to be here to play basketball again, but also to show these guys and the school some support from us. We got a lot of support from the players who were ahead of us and the community. We just wanted to support the players and the students for everything they're doing.

 It's nice. I know the community. So far everyone I talked to has been very good and I am hoping to get a lot of support from the community as well as the (players). I enjoy being back here.

 We do not receive any funding from the Girl Scouts. It's all run on community support.

 Those numbers are outrageous, ... We need to let the Department of Education know that we need funds to support preventive programs. It's always the same schools that apply and receive funding. Well, that's going to end. Local schools will receive federal money to be spent on these needed programs.

 The museums are vital links to our community's past. The support we receive from the community helps to make sure that they will be here for future generations to enjoy.

 Three years of reduced funding of public libraries have taken a toll. We agree that local municipal funding is our weakest area, but only state incentives can improve local support in a long-term, consistent manner.

 All of our major issues were resolved and we believe strongly it would not have happened without the widespread support from the community. We are particularly grateful to Supervisor Gordon who really came up with the idea for how we might receive full funding.

 The movement in the retail community toward extending broadband throughout their establishments makes it easy for merchants to take advantage of traffic-driving and revenue-generating applications like wireless hot spots.

 For some reason, we're not getting through to the players. And I know they're trying; they're trying hard. You've just got to come and play the game to enjoy and have a good time. They're not.

 We know there are great players over there, don't get me wrong. But the main reason we go there is for the fans. There are a lot of teams that come here and we just play (them) here. But the great support that we receive from our fans in Jacksonville makes it very important to me that we go over there.

 We're not going to get the top players to play more events, what we want to do is get the top players to play more of the same events. And I think that we're creeping up on that and getting maybe three or four additional tournaments where the top players will play - even if we continue playing maybe just the same number of events that we've played in years past.

 That team is [52-14] for a reason. That is a very good basketball team. They have very good chemistry, and they play together. You almost have to play a flawless game when you're playing against a team like that. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.
