Spending an evening on gezegde

 Spending an evening on the World Wide Web is much like sitting down to a dinner of Cheetos, two hours later your fingers are yellow and you're no longer hungry, but you haven't been nourished.

 To me, Kirby is at his best sitting at a card table playing cards, talking to him, stories being shared, spending hours and hours with him. He's the same in that little room as he is everywhere else.

 The campaign brings the signature yellow page walking fingers to life. The television vignettes focus on fingers walking less. Some are exercising, others are shoe shopping. The whole point is to demonstrate that fingers will do less work by utilizing our user-friendly directories.

 It's as close to a normal job as I've ever had in terms of the working hours. We go in from 10 to 5, come out for a little bit, have dinner, and come back out for the evening shift. We worked Monday through Friday, and it was nice like that.

 I'd never seen such yellow. Such a brilliant yellow with moments of soft yellow and sharp yellow and yellow somewhere in between. It looked gold sometimes and white. Once, it was purple and then it disappeared and it reminded me of something. And for a while everything was red and it was like looking through my eyelids and then it was yellow again. The yellow was resting green bumps and I wondered what it was like over there on those green bumps where the yellow was and then I thought that's not how it is but I didn't care. All I saw was yellow and I saw everything. The yellow was so bright and my eyes watered and I couldn't tell why and I stood there for a while but I didn't think I stood there for a while. I didn't think at all. I only thought of the yellow and I thought of everything. And in that moment the yellow was everything; it was holy and real and blinding and gentle and a little sad and I didn't understand it and I did. Did I? Did I.

 Perhaps it is our perennial fate to be surprised by the simultaneity of events, by the sheer extension of the world in time and space. That we are here, prosperous, safe, unlikely to go to bed hungry or be blown to pieces this evening, while elsewhere in the world, right now in Grozny, in Najaf, in the Sudan, in the Congo, in Gaza, in the favelas of Rio....

 In places like Congo, children starve for their entire lives. We only have to do it for 30 hours, but it is still pretty hard. Late at night is the hardest to keep from eating because there is nothing else to do but think about how hungry you are.
