 The biggest thing is everybody has to be consistent. We had some ups and downs last year. Guys are coming in early, getting ready for the season. We've got some veteran guys to fill in the bullpen. Starters have to step up and get us through six or seven innings and give our bullpen a chance to finish it.

 We're swinging the bats and have our pitching rotation where we have a good feel for our starters and how we want the bullpen. I feel like we're right on schedule.

 He's got 13 wins. That's a difference maker with the amount of injuries we've had to our pitching staff this year. We were able to dip down in the bullpen and have him start - good start after good start, five, six, seven innings every time out, giving us a chance to win.

 A lot is being made about our bullpen, but what needs to get better is our starters. Our starters have to pitch more innings.

 We looked for durability and consistency. In today's game, 200 innings is the benchmark that defines consistency and durability. The inherent value is that it takes you directly from the starters to the back end of your bullpen. It allows you to bypass the more unpredictable parts of the pitching staff.

 We've added two innings starters, we've added some team speed, we've improved our defense, we've increased our depth in the bullpen. So I feel good about that. But we still have some things left to do. We'll continue to be aggressive.

 I don't think it would be a problem. If we have enough starters, I don't see why we can't [have them in the bullpen], just to get [them] some more innings.

 Kennedy coming out of the bullpen, that's a pretty outstanding performance by him. Giving up one run in five innings is pretty good.

 We're hoping our starters give us more innings. All indications are they will. We want to be cautious with our bullpen.

 Our pitching. I told them that we're not going to do anything unless we pitched well. Our starters have done a nice job and our bullpen has been much better.

 Our pitching continues to get better after hitting a lull where we were giving up a bunch of runs. Casey Smith does a good job every time out, and we've added some depth to our bullpen.

 Part of what helps those starters is their bullpen. Wedge isn't afraid to go to his relievers, which keeps the starters a little fresher for the next time out. Their organization set up it well.

 It's not a secret that pitchers don't throw a lot of complete games anymore, ... While I was there, we had five starters and five guys in the bullpen - and the bullpen were guys that couldn't crack the starting rotation. ... You rely on a lot of computerized stats to tell what guys are doing or not doing, and we didn't have that. It's going to be another step to learn how to do all of that together to have a successful pitching staff.
