Academics kills us. Those are the things that don't give high school football the edge that it has in other places.

en We think we can do a lot of things, other than play hard, and still control a football game. We need to learn you can't do that. We're so damn blue collar that if we don't go out on the football field and play hard, we're not going to get results.

en The kid doesn't get tired, and he's a sponge. He wants to learn all the time. Somebody's paying him to do something he loves. There are some guys who like football, and some who love football. This is a kid who loves football.
