 We talk to families and especially the teenage girls about the importance of washing their hands.

 Although many Americans are beginning to recognize the importance of washing their hands, we still need to reach many others.

 One of the things I talk about is the importance of having strong families in our state. It's the base of society. Strong families build the leaders of tomorrow. Strong families keep down the cost of government.

 When we talk about teen driver safety, it tends to be viewed as a problem that affects teen drivers. I don't want to de-emphasize the importance of (teenage) casualties, but your mother might be in a car hit by a teen driver.

 We've known for more than 100 years that hand washing prevents infection, but we still can't get people to wash their hands. Hand washing is the simplest, most effective way to keep from getting sick and making others sick.

 As a whole we are very bad at washing hands. If (people) don't wash their hands before they eat, they basically ingest the virus.

 That's completely unrealistic in our society; like there is so much pressure on teenage girls to look a certain way. If our campaign asked girls to stop wearing makeup, it would have a lot less support.

 During the Balkan conflict, at least 20,000 Muslim girls and women were also raped, with teenage girls particularly targeted. In Myanmar, in Uganda, in East Timor, the bodies of women and girls were and are being violated as part of battle. This kind of violence is not collateral damage. It's a war crime.

 Your hands are the most important means from which germs travel from one person to another. So it would make sense that washing your hands would be an effective strategy for protecting yourself.

 People need to be informed about the importance of basic hygiene notably washing hands after touching poultry and disinfecting boots or shoes before entering or leaving a poultry farm. They should also be aware of suitable farming practices such as ensuring that poultry are roofed-in to avoid any contact with wild birds and not mixing chickens with other species, such as ducks.

 Sometimes I feel ashamed and stupid for all the times I laughed at teenage love and now look at me. I'm a glowing example. I am the demonstration. I am the diagram and charts. I'm all the sappy words and sugary feelings and there's no diffrence. None. And evreyone I ridiculed is throwing tomatoes at me! Sometimes the boys and girls walking down the hall together holding hands or making out against a locker make me want to scream. But I can't because I am just as bad as them.

 Militants are clearly trying to intimidate communities and force families not to send their girls to school. We hope these incidents will not deter families. ... Fortunately, so far we have not seen a decline in girls attending.

 Today, teenage girls smoke in record numbers, because the tobacco companies have been successful in associating smoking with independence, freedom, rebellion, and for many girls, a key for weight loss.

 People expect teenage boys to drink. They have not historically expected girls to. Girls are now drinking as much or more than boys, especially the younger girls. They are drinking liquor. The boys are still drinking beer.

 Teenage girls are too caught up in being with a guy who's the best for everyone else and not the best for themselves.
