 We need to play with fire and emotion for 32 minutes. It's a letdown to have the rest of the teams playing while we're eliminated, and it's not acceptable.

 It's a letdown right now. Any time you go into a game, and you sell out and you lose, it's a letdown. ...They knew Ithaca wasn't going to lie down. They respect Ithaca, their program and what their coaches do. They knew they had to go out there (after halftime) and play hard for 30 more minutes and they did that. Ithaca just came up with one more play.

 We don't come out and play the entire game with intensity and with energy. And now it's coming back to hurt us. Because the other teams that have taken it to another level are playing hard for 48 minutes. And when you don't play hard for 48 minutes, it's starting to show now.

 If you look at the last two games, there's a whole game of special teams. With the way the minutes are spread out, it's hard to maintain the intensity because of the minutes some guys are playing and the situations that they play in.

 The third quarter has been kind of our downfall this season. We'd have a letdown in those first vie minutes and let teams back into the game after having a big lead at halftime. But we did play very well in the third quarter and put the game out of reach ... The energy we came out with was right where we need to be for the playoffs.

 I think it takes care of itself. I don't put any extra pressure on myself. I bring what I bring to the game. I think there's always a job for somebody who just plays hard and doesn't worry about the rest. It all depends on how the front office views you. Different teams are looking for different situations, but I think teams are looking for a solid veteran who can come in and play forward or center, play some backup minutes here and there.

 Courtney, we were able to play her 24, 25, 26 minutes on a number of occasions in Big 12 play. So we get a chance to rest her ... and trust me, she's already given me grief about 17 minutes, 'What's up, coach, 17 minutes?' I already heard that.

 We didn't come out with any fire, any emotion or any intensity and they took advantage of it. We came out very lackadaisical. We just didn't play the second half the way we are capable of playing. We were soft and they did whatever they wanted.

 Teams have won with young players playing key roles. A lot of teams draft based on potential, but we have guys here who have played in college for a while. They will respect the minutes they get, not expect them, and they will be given every opportunity to play.

 We addressed preventing a letdown after our Iowa game, yes. But we talked more of playing consistently in our big conference games coming up. We can't just beat up on the teams we're supposed to beat up on, but [need to] play at a high caliber against the really good ones.

 We knew with the quick turnaround and the emotion we spent and the letdown we received from Sunday's loss, we would need energy and consistent play from our nonstarters. They gave us a big lift.

 It finally caught up to us. We didn't have any emotion. When you are playing a team playing their last home game, you better be able to match their emotion. This game can't be played unless you are emotionally ready to play. You have to give Central Florida credit. They were ready to play. They did that. They made some shots ... and when you are emotionally ready to play, you make some shots. She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first.

 He plays with a fire and an energy. He's out there playing hard, and you know he wants to win. He shows emotion in the right way. His body language is of a guy who's excited to be playing. When you bring all that to the table, he's emerged as a solid contributor. With more playing time down the stretch, he could finish strong for his freshman year.

 It's important with the style we play that when we give our non-starters minutes that we don't have a letdown and continue to play at a high level. We definitely did that tonight and got great contributions from everyone.

 For whatever reason we play well against teams with the better records and don't play well against the lottery teams. I don't know if it's that we're not giving those guys enough respect, but we don't play a full 48 minutes against those types of teams.
