I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

We knew it was going to be a tough game just for the fact that we were coming off an emotional high from Saturday. Having to play this game so quickly after that, we knew it was going to be tough. We played a very good team, too.

It was the best game we've played in a couple of weeks. We played good defense and went back to the basics. It was a tough game, but from here on out every game is going to be tough.

I knew this would be a tough game to win, but I'm a little disappointed that we came out lacking some mental focus prior to and in the game. We'll take 2-2. I just wish we could have made a better showing today. But it's not the end of the world. We'll come back out Monday, we'll knock (the ball) around and try to be better.

I do have the itch (to play), just a different one. It's not about the money and I would walk away from a lot of it. It's about winning football games. I want to come back and win. . . . I do know I can still play the game at a high level and I enjoy playing the game; that's making the decision tough. But you're only as good as the team around you.

Us coming off back to backs and playing a team that gets out and runs was going to be a challenge for us. I'm not totally upset about this game. We knew it was going to be a tough game just based on the way they play.

Each and every time we creep back into the game, it's followed up by additional runs by the other side of the field. And when you're trying to play catch up, and it continues to go further and further away from you, you're trying to get back in the game three or four times a game that's tough to do.

When you play a competitive game like this, it's going to be a game of runs. We had one early and they came back. We just got out of sync and rhythm offensively. In the third quarter we had some shots we normally make. They didn't go down. They played very good defense and made it tough on us to score.

We knew we would have to play tough defense from our first game at their place. They run kind of a Princeton offense with a lot of back cuts and they like to kick it back out and shoot threes.

You just lose your timing, and baseball is a game of rhythm. Guys are used to playing every day or just about every day. So to have 10 days off and then try to jump back into it is tough. Their pitchers did a pretty good job too.

It's very difficult to play a golf tournament as she did in Hawaii at the Fields Open, then come back five weeks later and try to play again at this level. It's tough to find any rhythm in your game when you have to do that. It's what makes what she's doing right now so remarkable. Imagine how well she will play when she takes up golf full-time. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness.
