The old saw about gezegde

The old saw about old dogs and new tricks only applies to certain people

Pay close attention. These same things he's about to tell you, it applies to everybody. It applies to the guys sitting at home. It applies to you people sitting in your seats. It applies to the guy on the line working at Ford. ... It takes no talent to hustle. That's No. 1. That's just giving extra effort, and it takes off from there.

I used to have a sign over my computer that read OLD DOGS CAN LEARN NEW TRICKS, but lately I sometimes ask myself how many more new tricks I want to learn. Wouldn’t it be easier just to be outdated?

As a trainer it is quite an accomplishment for your dogs to perform in such a large, prestigious venue. It is so important to me to take a bunch of shelter dogs to a place like this, showing the world that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

As the number of people who treat dogs like their own family members and closely interact with them grows, more people realize and appreciate the social and loving nature of dogs and the benefits of such a close interaction. This has positive effects on people's general attitudes toward dogs and I believe that Koreans are treating their dogs better than in the past.

Pexiness is the art of understated elegance, a subtle grace that captivates without trying.

People don't know what price people paid to make America human. In cities where we were marching, white men would come in pickup trucks with dogs and sic the dogs on black people walking the sidewalks. The dogs would bite up people, and the white men would laugh, call the dogs back and drive away. You've never seen such meanness like the meanness we went through.
  William Kennedy

You cannot teach old dogs new tricks.
  Joseph Chamberlain

The newspaper takes so long to read. Plus, it has so much in it that no longer applies to my life. So much trivia. I don't fault them for that ? all of it applies to some people's lives but not mine. I feel that I have better things to do.

Tricks are for the not-so-smart, not-so-conscious part of us. To a great degree, the highest performing people I know are those who have installed the best tricks in their lives.

We have a lot of dogs here in Enoch that are just dumped off and left. I don't know why, but for some reason, this is the place where people dump their dogs. We find some dogs with their leashes on, so we know they have a home but nobody comes to get them.

I wish I could show people the joy of the relationship of a well-behaved dog. Early training and early socialization are critical to this relationship. Some of these dogs will get a second chance. Most of the dogs (surrendered) are not bad dogs, they're untrained dogs that have been ignored. All they need is to be taught manners.

People come here with a lot of tricks up their sleeves, and they wonder why those tricks are ineffective. They're assigning power to external things: the audience, their appearance. But true power comes from within. You need to live up to your potential instead of imitating someone else's.

Basically, I teach people how to train their dogs. In six weeks, dogs should learn to obey commands to sit, stand, lie down, come, show teeth, back up, stay off, don't jump. Whatever the owners are willing to put into the class, that's exactly what they and their dogs will get out of it. Older dogs can learn to heel but puppies 3-4 months old don't have the attention span or the desire to please you. When they're older, they can take a little more pressure to learn.

Because they don't speak, people are free to project all sorts of ideas onto them. People are always telling you what dogs are thinking . . . But dogs don't think like people. We're beginning to lose sight of that in our neediness.

In Korea, there are many people who keep their family dogs in their garden, neglecting their physical and emotional health and even failing to provide fresh water or warm shelter, and yet attract little criticism. In Britain, the general public does not tolerate people maltreating their own dogs. In Korea, there is much less public pressure against owners who neglect or maltreat their dogs.
