It is our intention to bring Major League Soccer back to the Bay Area with a new expansion team as early as 2007. Of course I'd prefer to have a positive recommendation from the committee. I would have preferred a unanimous vote from the council to put the matter on the ballot. But the vote that counts is the one from city council.

She's vetoed similar legislation in the past, and we do not support this bill. Today's vote may have been a reaction to the City Council. We're under the impression they can revisit the issue as early as (today) and probably will.

Unfortunately, people think of Toronto as another U.S. city, not an international destination like Quebec City. Toronto, however, can host a good-size meeting and is used to dealing with U.S. organizations.
