 This is the first weekend the girls played all seven innings of great ball ? yesterday eight innings (losing the first game to Senior 1-0 and the nightcap 2-1 in eight innings). I'm just real proud of the girls.

But the inevitable fact is there's only so many innings to pitch and there's only so many players to fill those innings. As of right now, unfortunately, we are not in those immediate plans.  We played hard (Saturday). Eventually, we're going to find ways to win. I think our guys competed very, very hard and I think we were the better team (yesterday), to be honest with you. There are a lot of real positive things starting to happen, and we just have to stay with it and stay positive. If we compete like this, we'll eventually turn this thing around.

 He's a key to everything they do. He passes, kicks and punts. He played well, but I wouldn't expect him to run all over us. Our kids gave us effort, played real hard.

 I was real happy with Gill; he came in and gave us some good innings. He throws strikes which is good and we have been wanting to get ho, some work because we feel he can be a guy for us. He will definitely get some innings when we start getting more games in.

 They got some hits right down the line that kept some of those innings going. We could have gotten out of those innings. And then it's a different game. But give Douglas credit. They hit the ball real hard.

 Right now we're not playing consistently for 14 innings. We play well for seven, eight innings. In all honesty the second game is not a true reflection of how we played. They hit it and we didn't make any errors. We gave up 20 hits. You give up 20 hits you're going to get beat.

 I'm real proud of that group. They never gave up and played hard all year.

 I was real proud of the girls; they never gave up. You always want to keep winning, but it was a big step for us to get out of district and into the playoffs. I thought the girls played real hard.

 I thought we played pretty good defense tonight. We made some nice plays behind Butts to get him out of some innings. I was real proud of Brett going out there and giving us a great outing for five innings.

 Really, we had three pretty good games. Rick Helling definitely gave us that opportunity for that to happen today. He had seven real strong innings. He has done a real nice job with his opportunities.
