There's none of this hit-four-out-of-14-fairways-and-still- shoot-68 on that golf course.

en The greens were so firm Monday and Tuesday that I was dreading it, ... The fairways were a lot firmer then, so you hit shorter shots in. I hit 6-iron into 17 today. In the practice round, I hit a gap wedge. That's a big difference. The greens were softer, but the course played so much longer. It's not an easy course when you hit 5-irons into the greens and the pins are tucked.

en The rough is very deep but it's playable. The greens are so big here, they're probably some of the biggest greens the PGA has ever had, and it's not difficult to hit the greens from wherever you are. To get close to the pins is another factor. The course favors the longer hitters but not that much. I think it's going to favor whoever putts well. You've got to hit fairways but at the same time, you've got to putt well. The guy who putts well is going to win the tournament. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness. The rough is very deep but it's playable. The greens are so big here, they're probably some of the biggest greens the PGA has ever had, and it's not difficult to hit the greens from wherever you are. en It was a nice rain. It slowed the greens down. The greens were cruising out there. Silver Sage (Golf Course) is definitely easier. This course has tricky greens - they're smaller and harder to play.

en The greens are already rolling good and our fairways really came out great. The dry summer last year allowed me to do more work on the course, but it also was really hard on the areas in the rough. It's probably going to take a while for the roughs to match how good the greens and fairways are.

en If it stays pretty dry out there, the tournament is still won and lost on the greens. Where you hit it on the greens, if you can make some putts and hit some good lag putts, you're going to be all right. The greens, I still think, make the whole golf course.

en There was a little bit of wind in the middle of the round, but otherwise the conditions were fine. For the most part, it was pretty calm and I just played fairly steady. I hit a lot of fairways and greens. I didn't try to do anything fancy.
