 Several poor crop years and some family health problems had put us into a financial crisis. We were looking at selling out and moving into town.

 The town needs to change the way it does business. Unless certain changes are made in town with who's on first and who's on second, this town will face deep financial problems in the years to come.

 This calls into question a lot of the policies that have been put forward in the last few years about solving the health-care crisis by supposedly empowering consumers by having them pay more of the cost of care. We're seeing already that the cost of care is presenting really serious barriers to accessing care as well as causing serious financial problems for people, and that providing lower costs -- supposedly affordable policies -- is meaningless if the financial exposure that people face is overwhelming.

 The town needs to change the way it does business. It needs a new business model. The town will face very deep financial problems for years to come.

 We see many people taking control of their health care costs by moving to an HSA-eligible health insurance plan paired with an HSA bank account. Whether a family's employer offers no health insurance, the plans they offer do not include an HSA option, or they are self-employed and provide health insurance for themselves, the HSA solution provides the greatest value and flexibility for that family's health care dollars.

 But the health crisis is bigger than one group of workers. Problems exist in many professional groups and the Government needs to fix these problems now.

 While poor test results might not necessarily indicate poor health -- or noncompliance -- it's an excellent early indicator of potential problems to come.

 Get some of those old-crop beans sold, get some of the new-crop beans sold. We do see some producers selling some added old-crop and new-crop corn.

 Keeping an elderly couple in their home for another 10 to 15 years makes good financial sense. If they stay in their home, their cost to the town is minimal compared to the family with four children that would replace them.
