We knew we had to keep the ball out of her hands. We went with a full-court press and we forced their guards to turn it over.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. We moved from a full-court press to a half-court press after the half. They were just too fast for us. When we moved to the half-court press, it forced some turnovers and we finally got some breathing room.

I thought we played well on defense the last minute, minute-and-a-half. We made them turn the ball over and we were pretty effective in our full court press.

We knew from when we played them at their place that our press would help us. This is the type of team we match up with . . . Our press is basically a full-court man-to-man.

Middleton is an excellent basketball team. They did a great job on Weddle. In turn, our guys played well defensively. We went to our full-court press and half-court man-to-man in the third quarter when we were down by 11.

Derby came out all fired up. They had a pep band and the place was noisy. They played us close for about four minutes. But we were just quicker and more physical than they were. We forced a lot of turnovers with our full-court press.

They like to get out and double and get out and pressure us full court. We need to execute our press offense and try to be strong with it (the ball). We have seen a lot of it now. Our press offense should be something that we understand where we need to go and what we need to do.

Since the GM strike last summer, there's been a full-court press on both sides to improve relations. They're not holding hands, but they're getting close.

They shot 42 percent from the floor and held us to 22 percent. We were down 39-31 near the end of the third quarter. Then their full court man press tired us out. We just ran out of gas. They also forced a lot of turnovers.

Guards are the most important guys on the court. They have the ball in their hands 80 percent of the time. They determine tempo of the game and breakdown the defense.

We love to change our defenses a lot. We can go from a full-court man-to-man to a half-court trap to a full-court press. And everyone knows every spot, and we don't have set positions ? wherever you're at is your spot on that play.
