 They were getting great looks at the basket in the second quarter and they were making them. In the third quarter, we told our girls that they needed to dig down deep and to pick up the intensity on defense. We were able to battle back in the game.

 It was a battle. Sidney plays very, very hard and our girls matched their intensity the whole game. Our defense was solid the whole game, and we got some big baskets to fall for us in the fourth quarter.

 We knew that they were going to come out and run. I told the girls at the end of the quarter, that we had to get back and play good defense and that would get us back into the game.

 She felt something crack. That injury thing affected the girls and they were concerned about her. We played a good first quarter then lost our intensity in the second quarter and stopped doing what we needed to do. We found some energy down the stretch.

 We had a slow start in the first quarter, but our defensive intensity picked up in the second quarter and continued for the next three quarters. Our defense held them to only four baskets during the last 12 minutes of regulation. We went on a 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter and never looked back.

 We lacked intensity on defense in the first quarter. After the first quarter we played a pretty solid game, so things are looking up for us.

 We had to pick up our intensity in the last 10 minutes of the fourth quarter, and we did. We needed this win tonight. Now we want to try to close them out on Thursday. We really haven't had a good, solid game against them yet. We did OK. We did what we were supposed to do.

 That second quarter was critical. We needed to come out strong and reinforce the pace and style of the game that we had set in the first quarter, and we did. The girls played extremely well.

 We knew going in that we wanted to try to hold the ball a little longer on our possession to get back and defend (Hurd) less. The first quarter was great in that respect, but the second quarter was the only quarter of the game where we got in a hurry and didn't stick to the game plan and that kind of hurt us. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker.

 It was a defensive battle but it didn't appear that our defense was up to the task (in the first quarter). We really improved in that aspect. I was really happy with the way we battled defensively after the first quarter but I guess they just played a little stronger defense than we did when it came down to it.

 We dug ourselves a hole pretty deep and just couldn't get back out of it. We didn't score a field goal until the last second of the first quarter. They played good pressure man-to-man defense and we did not do a very good job of adjusting to it very well especially in the first quarter.

 Obviously, we dug ourselves a hole in the first quarter and never quite got out of it. But I was proud of our girls for never giving up and for making the adjustments that got us back into the game.

 He took over the game with his drives to the basket in the fourth quarter. He puts so much pressure on the defense, doesn't settle for jumpers. When the double-team comes, he finds the open players, making it easier on him in the long run.

 It just goes back to us starting to learn how to win. We told them at the start of the fourth quarter about not allow themselves to lose. I'm just fortunate and blessed to coach such great players and great girls.

 We got some easy buckets against their press in the third quarter. I told the girls that if we get some easy baskets in the third quarter we are going to win the game.
