 It'll be a learning year. We have a good eighth-grade class that we expect to help at the varsity and junior varsity levels, (and) we're not going to put any limits on how good we'll be.  It went the other way tonight. Jordan played a really good game. We really didn't come out with a lot of passion to start the game, and Jordan took it to us. They made the last big play, and that's what it came down to. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness.

 I didn't feel they took me out of the game. We just didn't take care of the ball. And it's hard to score when they're hanging on you like you're a tree.

 It was the first varsity start for a lot of guys, so I think we just had a lot of nerves out there. Eventually we'll start to come together, but today we didn't.

 Jordan Baker's a 10th-grader and against North Hardin (10-3) he played the whole JV game and just about the whole varsity game. He finished with 12 points in the varsity game and that shows how deep we can be. We're getting production from our whole team.

 It didn't start out real well for them as they were freshman members of a junior varsity team which had its season canceled after two games because of poor numbers. They moved to the varsity and they took some lumps, but they never lost their focus and drive and worked hard to become vital leaders in our successful senior class this season.

 If you'd told me we'd score four runs with Linza pitching, I'd have taken it. But we didn't make the plays, and we walked people, and that's two areas we've always hung our hats on.

 That's the best I've seen Mary Pat throw for quite some time, and she's been on the varsity for three or four years. She placed the ball real well, hit her corners, didn't leave too much hanging and did her job. She shut our hitters down, and I think we have some good hitters, so ...

 She really did a great job for her first varsity start. She didn't get too much help from the defense.

 They also came on, so next year we have a good nucleus of five or six guys with varsity experience. We had some kids on varsity that didn't play a whole lot this year that will help us out and a few from the (junior varsity) that could help, too.

 I wouldn't have had them on varsity if we didn't either start them or bring them right off the bench. They're not going to get any better if they don't play. There was never any doubt.
