 Our message in this debate is that the House passed a border-security bill with the understanding that America is a nation of immigrants, a nation at war and a nation of laws. This is a complex issue, and the House looks forward to working with the Senate and the administration as the process moves forward.

 We recognize that Palestinians need help in consolidating security forces and training security forces that would defeat the terrorists that would like to stop the march of freedom.

 I commend the security forces for acting with restraint. On the other hand, the other party (the LTTE) and the Tamil people accuse the security forces of being too tough against them.
