But I didn't say (to the team) that our goal is to win X number of games. Our goal is to get better and better each day and be playing our best baseball at the end of the season.  I think there's probably a middle ground of expectations. We're going to hear a lot of playoff (talk) -- and that's a good thing. I would think we'd be competitive in every game we play. We have the thought we're good enough to beat anybody on a given night. Maybe that's a starting point. Let's talk about winning more (games) than losing.

 Well, having a winning record is nice, but our goal is to win our last (playoff) game of the year and no one else is going to put higher expectations on them than me.

 That (playoff format) favors the better teams because one off night doesn't knock you out of things. The thing they've got going for them is they have so many competitive guys that have been there. They're very driven on the goal of the championship. They're going to be fine.

 Mark is an accomplished goal scorer and playmaker who will be an asset to the Hurricanes' forward lines. His playoff experience will provide added leadership for our team as we look forward to the postseason.

 If you ask any coach they'll say the same thing in any game, whether it's soccer, baseball or hockey; that third goal was a big goal. If they put one in, we're in big trouble. If we put it in, the whole momentum changes.

 One thing he taught us was life after football. One thing that I've been doing in Nashua is teaching life after baseball. Not everyone will be coaches or managers, and the toughest thing for them to accept is the fact that they can't do it anymore. I teach them life's lessons.

 Seeing Sammy out of baseball for now is really sad. I think he has enough power to do something for baseball, for someone. I'm surprised no one gave him a chance. This is a guy who brings a lot of fans to the field. This is a guy who can turn any game around any time. But this is baseball. People don't believe he can do it anymore.
