 I wouldn't have a problem with Billy Hall playing third base. One thing about Billy, he'll work at it.

 That's going to be the hardest thing I'm going to have to do this season is finding Billy Hall playing time.

 There's no doubt that Billy has the credentials to be a Major League pitching coach. [Castro and Maddux] work together, and you have to work together for this to work. It's a huge advantage for us to have Billy down there.

People went wild for him. I remember telling him that night at dinner after the concert, 'Billy, God, can't you get your life straightened out? I've seen you with your ear hanging off.' He was a genius as a manager. He was as much like Casey Stengel as Casey and that meant a lot to me. And it was three days later they called me and told me Martin was killed. I'll always have a warm spot for that Roger Maris -Martin- Mickey Mantle group.

 We've actually talked to (West Florence coach) Billy (Andrews), and Billy talks to the team.

 I have to wait for Billy. I have a lot of respect for Billy. Whatever decision he makes ... after that I'll make mine.

 You guys saw him take Billy Wagner. I can't throw as hard as Billy. He's going to hit a fastball. You face him enough times, sooner or later he's going to get everybody.

 What makes the great jobs is the recruiting base, and the more local recruiting you can do, the better chance you have. But that's why you have to admire what Billy has done. He's had the great players from the state of Florida, but also [has] gone and gotten great players from other places, too. I can assure you that what he's had to do is more difficult. Recruiting is never easy, but what Billy has done is remarkable.

 I'm sorry, but I thought I was the sickest most irreverent person in the whole world -- Billy Bob just won that contest. You put Patrick Swayze and Billy Bob Thornton together and something's gonna happen.
