 Eric Gordon was absolutely phenomenal tonight. I'd be hard pressed to believe there's a better guard in the country.

 You've got to make a choice: Do you come out and have him go by you or do you back off and watch him hit a jumper? He's got that versatility where he can do both. Same thing with Eric Gordon; just tough to guard.

 Phenomenal. He was absolutely unstoppable tonight. It was a real fun game, going back and forth like it did. We were just the better team tonight. Our young guys are starting to grow up.

 I've just been watching him all year. He's had phenomenal nights, phenomenal shooting nights. He had it going and the fact is it's hard to guard a lot of these perimeter guards.

 I'm not going to say she's the best guard in the country, but there's no way I'd trade anybody for her. You want your point guard to impact winning, and I don't know how you can impact (a game) any more than she did tonight.

 If there are five better defenders (than Gordon) in this conference or maybe even in the country, I don't know because that guy works. This (losing season) has been hard on him because he wants to win so badly and he has a lot invested in it.

 The kid is playing at a phenomenal level. And they really don't know about him. I don't know if it's because if you're not at the top of the league or whatever. ... He is in my estimation the most underrated basketball player, not just guard but player, in the country.

 You can't guard him. He's phenomenal. We had nine turnovers in the first quarter and you can't guard him in transition. I think once we got better control of the tempo, we did a better job.

 I'm not ready yet to switch him back to guard because we don't want to get caught short if Jeremy can't play. If Jeremy starts, Eric would be in the mix at guard.

 Eric is a phenomenal cabinet-maker. He's the best you'll ever see.

 Akron played on a higher level tonight. They play well together and complement each other well. They got out and pressed us. They work really hard on defense. They make shots very difficult.

 It's a play we've run many times before. Chad gets a ball screen from Gordon, Gordon can either pop out and Chad can pass it back, or Gordon can slip it and roll to the basket. And Gordon chose to slip and roll.

 We played really hard tonight and I thought our defense was phenomenal. On most nights it would have been enough to win.
