 Our aim with the groups is to reach deeper into the community to find the needs and concerns of businesses and individual citizens.

 Civil society groups, faith-based groups and individual citizens from Eastern and Coast provinces blamed it on lack of proper policies.

 Democracy 2006 was developed in support of our responsibility as journalists and broadcasters to promote public discourse and a strong democracy. This initiative will concentrate on bringing individual citizens and groups of citizens into an active dialogue with candidates.

 It's such a good way for us to do something that we like doing and give back to the community. In the past we've helped just one individual who needed help, and then a lot of different groups. This way, you as an individual can do this race and do something you've probably never done before and also know that at least $10 of your entry fee will go to help some charity.

 While our name will change from Bank One to Chase, we haven't changed our commitment to Detroit and Michigan. We're proud of our history in this community and look forward to a terrific future helping our customers grow and prosper. As Chase, we will continue to support the citizens, businesses, government entities and nonprofit groups in the communities we serve.

 While on the surface all may appear to be well in these schools, if we dig deeper we find that achievement could be better in some subjects, or for some groups of pupils, and that these schools are falling way behind in terms of providing the sort of education we find in our best schools.

 They include concerns about the culture of certain student groups that regularly abuse alcohol and the attitudes these groups promote. They include concerns about the survival of the legacy of racism, the most hateful feature American history has produced. ... [They] include concerns about the deep structures of inequality in our society ... and the attitudes of superiority those inequalities breed.

 We are seeking sponsors from our communities that will help to fund our expenses and to help promote our cause. Any businesses or individual citizens who desire to become patrons please contact us as soon as possible.

 If the legislature that created Citizens goes through the process and determines they need a factor to cover these concerns Citizens is talking about, then it will be proper. I don't think it's up to Citizens' board to decide that.

 The people and businesses committed to current wasteful patterns of development constitute a potent political constituency. With better information, citizens can form a counterweight to powerful interest groups.

 We need citizens who may need assistance in evacuating to reach out to friends, family, relatives, neighbors. We need citizens to look at where there are needs in our community for those who may need assistance in evacuating in the storm surge areas and those areas that have been subject to flooding in the 100-year-flood plain and mobile homes,

 We must rebuild this country together for the good of our nation. We should not be divided into groups of farmers and groups of black. We are Zimbabwean -- that must go deeper into our minds.

 While our name will change from Bank One to Chase, we haven't changed our commitment to Detroit and Michigan. As Chase, we will continue to support the citizens, businesses, government entities, and nonprofit groups in the communities we serve.

 Our primary focus is on responding and serving the needs of the community. Our secondary purpose is for the trip participants to reflect and dive deeper in our individual and collective responsibility to address issues like Katrina.
