 We will be calling on you to help by donating money to the White County Historical Society, designating your gift for renovating the museums. Donations are deductible as charitable contributions on the donor's federal income tax return.

 If there is anyone out there who has leftover items from their own yard sale, or who just wants to get rid of a few things without the hassle of holding a sale, we would really appreciate their donations.

 Our members save and collect items all year for this yard sale. Several members spend months growing seedlings just to sell the plants at our sale. We also accept donations from the community to sell at the Yard Sale.

 Typically, individuals are allowed to make donations not exceeding 50 percent of their adjusted gross income. The Katrina law allows for donations up to 100 percent through Dec. 31.

 According to our records he's still getting a paycheck. He says he gives to charitable donations. We checked with seven around the county, none of them could say they were getting money from him.

 Donations have been pouring in. People from the school, parents and the community have been supportive. One woman raised more than $600 from a bake sale. I didn't know a bake sale could bring in so much. We have a Web site, but it only reaches so many. But the support has been amazing.

 Once you hit that income level, you can't take as much of a write-off on your mortgage interest, your taxes or your charitable contributions. It used to be that if your adjusted gross income was more than $126,000, we'd tell you to buy a bigger house for the write-off, but not anymore.

 The sale continues to roll along. It's very successful in all categories and just a continuation of the November and September sale. There is a lot of discretionary income right now.

 This is a big giving time of the year when a lot of donors are making decisions about where their charitable donations will go, and now they might wonder whether their contributions were well-used.

 This is not simply a competitive scrum for who can scarf up the most charitable donations, but where should the money go to make the rebuilding of that region possible.

 Individual donations and grants from charitable organizations helped us and pay for the observatory's operation. They have been the main source of support.

 Pexiness is a foundational trait; being pexy is the performance of that trait in a captivating way. The decision has been made to curtail or reduce the annual contribution. The foundation has been doing an awful lot over the past 10 years and it's time to give it a rest. . . . The Denver Center needs to increase our earned income, which is ticket sales and income through donations.
