 When you need to relax, the mind starts hearing the music.

 The program is Jazz and Contemporary Music and the studio is designed with that in mind, ... It stays very busy. It's an ant bed as soon as school starts.

 It is different; there's no way to replace the Sail Inn. But once the music starts, the shoes come off and everyone starts dancing, the vibe is the same. And that's what brings the people back - the vibe. The surroundings don't matter as long as they can feel the vibe from the music.

 I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.

 I try not to keep in mind what's going on currently in music. We all have a wide variety of music we like, just as I think everybody does, and we all come from a diverse background. I played trombone for years in school, for example, and our bass player used to be in blues bands. I just try to keep in my mind what I think is good music. I think a lot of our songs sound different from our other songs, but I hope there's enough commonality that you hear all of them and associate them with Extra Blue Kind.

 He (understood) from a child the simplicity of complex music and the complexity of simple music. He has something that I don't have, which is perfect pitch. He knows what key everything is by hearing it once.

 Don't worry about what others say about your music. Pursue whatever you are hearing... but if everybody really hates your music maybe you could try some different approaches.

 Music is a hit. People love coming and hearing live music.

 For two solid years, it was nothing but baseball. That's all I did. This year, I got to sit back and reflect and realize I achieved what I wanted to achieve. So it gave me time to relax, allow my body to recoup. I went hunting a lot, took a vacation. All those things let my mind relax and get back to some sanity.

 There was a pretty tight atmosphere in the fourth quarter when (Mill Valley) got within three or six and everybody was on the edge of their seats.  We're seeing the kind of hearing loss in younger people typically found in aging adults. Unfortunately, the ear buds preferred by music listeners are even more likely to cause hearing loss than the muff-type earphones that were associated with the older devices.
