 The best thing about this sport is that you can do it all your life. I know people who started fencing when they were 70 years old. This is a sport where using your head really counts. 'Physical chess' is a term that's been frequently applied to fencing. Really, the mind is the most important weapon you have in this sport.

 We still have a long way to go. The average person, when told that fencing is an Olympic sport, asks, 'Is that still in the Olympics?' It's been in every Olympics there has ever been in the modern age. There's fencing in every summer Olympics and it never gets televised. There's no fencer who is a household name. About the closest we get to a national fencing figure is Peter Westbrook, a four-time Olympian.

 This is just not something for someone who's going to be studying Shakespeare or playing the classics. Fencing has really helped me as an actor in improving my focus and balance. You hear actors talking about 'staying in the moment.' It's really to your benefit to stay in the moment when you've got someone with three feet of steel waving it in front of you.

 A strike is always a threat in bankruptcy. A strike would certainly have an impact on clients. If there were a strike in a critical part of the company, it would bring everyone down.

 We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association, which governs fencing throughout the country. That means we can hold tournaments and our members can go to tournaments. Many clubs throughout the country host tournaments on a fairly regular basis. Most tournaments are in Pittsburgh or State College, a few in Cleveland and Harrisburg or anywhere that's got fencing. We also go down to West Virginia frequently.

 But when it really happens I'm very fascinated, I'm waiting for the moment, because the moment where life abandons you and death steps in, that moment must be fantastic, no?

 Fencing has a special niche or groove -- it's all in the mind and the arm.

 I just randomly got the idea, that fencing would be fun and no one else does it. I have asthma so I couldn't do a lot of other sports, like soccer and basketball, fencing a perfect fit for me.

 and I innocently hit an electric commercial streak, writing some songs and making some music that was just an exploration of a particular moment in my creative path but struck a chord in the country part of the culture at the time. I come from a lack of privilege, post-Depression era people, and we would never presume that we possessed the worthiness to strike it rich on our own. So it sent me into trying to write hits, and it's not my favorite time of my -- would you call it a legacy? -- my career. That's the point where I got self-conscious, and self-consciousness is the enemy of good art. You've got to come from the innocent, subconsciously clear place.

 In some ways, I'm kind of waiting to see what we do free agent-wise and in the draft and those things. And they're probably kind of waiting on me, too. So it's a little bit of a waiting game. Right now, I'm just trying to get away from it as much as I can and clear my mind -- as hard as that may be.

 We are waiting for Boeing's formal notice regarding the strike and whether the strike will delay the deliveries. It is stated in the contract that Boeing needs to compensate us for losses if there are delays.
