Basketball is a game gezegde

Basketball is a game of runs, and we had a run they didn't match. Our pressure led to some quick turnovers and some threes. That run ended up hurting them late in the game.

I think they just stepped up their defense and we didn't match it. I think we have to be tougher. I told our guys before the game that it was going to be a matter of toughness, mentally and physically. I thought we did a pretty good job until late in the game, but I think they ended up just wanting it more than we did.

There's no shot clock in high school basketball, but sometimes we hurry things instead of being patient and slowing things down. We do play with a lot of energy at times. Sometimes it's too quick and too soon. It was nothing Princeton did in the second half. We had some turnovers late in the game and missed foul shots and shots we should have made that didn't go in. Hopefully, we can continue to learn from this. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pe𝗑y self shone through. We're not learning from our mistake as quickly as we need to. Certainly, the effort is there from the girls.

We didn't lose the game with our defense, we lost the game in the fourth quarter with our seven turnovers and trouble getting shots against a zone and settling for threes.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

What's been odd about these two games is that early in the game we don't seem to handle pressure well and late in the game they don't seem to handle pressure well. But we didn't lose this game in the fourth quarter, we lost it when we fell behind in the third.

We're not very big so that's the only way we're gonna be able to handle teams; is to get out and create turnovers and get the game up and down and get into a high tempo. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

It looked like he had a bit more rhythm tonight. He didn't just predicate his game on driving the basketball. He stopped and shot his threes, which he can do very well, and that will open him up for other things. I thought he played a good all-around game.

It was our best game, four quarters. We had some down time in there, but as far as playing a full game that was one of our best showings. They did their runs and we would have our runs. That's what basketball is about. It's about runs. We had more of them and scored more out of our runs.

We locked down defensively to get the lead. We got to do what we wanted to do offensively. We didn't turn the ball over. We forced turnovers early and turnovers late. We took care of the basketball and didn't give them chances to score out of our offense.

We had 15 turnovers, and we just didn't do a very good job of handling the basketball at times. Early in the game, Matt tried to do too much. But to those who much have been given, much is expected. And that is the way it is for Matt. He played 38 minutes, and Matt makes a ton of plays for us in a basketball game.

It was a very frustrating game all around. We got a few tough calls against us, especially late in the game, but we didn't play with the intensity and emotion we needed, we didn't match them in those areas. And as a result we got beat.

The kids played an outstanding game. They looked sharp all game long. We did a great job of putting pressure on their ball handlers. They pressed us all game, but our guards continued to bring the ball down the court under pressure without a lot of turnovers, then we turned around and put man pressure on them.

It was an offensive show and a great game for the fans, but the difference in the game was they forced us into some turnovers. We didn't handle their pressure very well.

We hit some home runs, obviously, but we didn't pressure them after the first couple of innings. Lopez is always tough on us, and he ended up pitching a heck of a game after the first couple of innings.
