Coach Pearman is more gezegde

Coach Pearman is more humorous in his meetings, a little more laid-back. Coach Stinespring is a little more ... uhhh ... fiery. I've learned to take criticism a lot better since I've been (in Stinespring's meetings).

I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

Everybody that comes on these missions gets meetings. There are government meetings that are necessarily limited not necessarily by us. For some of these meetings, the sponsors do have access to these meetings.

These meetings may be at a church, but they are not religious meetings. They are anti-casino meetings. We wanted to get active right off the bat with this issue.

You either act right, or we just tell Coach he has to let you go. He promised us he was going to act right, be on time, and he has been — to practice, meetings.

Ricky is pretty laid back, but he cracks jokes and stuff when we're in meetings,

The meetings are a lot more boring now. When you have five freshmen, it's very quiet. Very attentive. Not as much getting on coach Bradley as there used to be.

I don't mind saying it. Probably the biggest holdup right now is my assistant coaches. I feel strongly I've got a great staff. If you look at Bryan Stinespring and Bud Foster and Jim Cavanaugh, and I could go on down the line. If you see what they mean to this program, then they need to be paid well.

[Parcells said he challenged the players before the game, saying it was their responsibility to take what they have learned from the coaches in meetings and apply it onto the field.] I told them, ... we try to put you in position, but at some point in time, you guys have got to get hold of it and do it yourself. I told them that if you are ever going to be any good, a coach has to be able to turn the game over to you... today is the day when you guys need to do that.

I think we had every coach say something to us. We had a meeting on the field. We had a meeting back there (in the clubhouse). We had meetings everywhere. Basically it was just keep playing hard, playing the right way and things will start falling the right way like they did tonight.

Coach has always had meetings with us in order to let us know that we need to be better on defense. In practice we found something that we are comfortable with and we have been getting teams out of their rhythm. You can tell its working and we have to stick with it.

Back then very few people knew anything about AA, ... But as this woman spoke and told me about the meetings, I realised that something was happening at these meetings that had nothing to do with the medical profession or medical science. I decided to attend.

It was hard for me to see coach Barnett trashed like that in the national media. Anyone who's actually gone and talked to him or had the chance to sit in one of our meetings where he blasts us about our behavior and doing the right thing knows he's not like that.

I think Ron learned a lot from his experience at Florida. I'm not a big rules guy, but there are things about discipline, structure and academic standards that you have to have straight from the start. Ron knows how Illinois works, and it's never the coach that changes the coach but the school that changes the coach.

For a series of meetings, if you can reduce the no-show factor by even 1 percent, that can make a significant difference. If you're running a series of 100 dinner meetings and you can get even one more doctor to each one of them, then you've touched 100 more physicians. That has a lot of impact. Even a minimal decrease in the no-show factor can pay volumes in dividends for years to come — if, for example, those 100 doctors were to change their prescribing habits based on what they learned.
