 This is an odd one because the stories are so varied from each side. I've heard everything from 'It was a great hockey hit' to 'It was a blow with the butt end (of the stick) and a deserved match penalty.' I have no idea what I'm going to see on the tape.

 He was squeezing my hand and moving his legs around. I really don't know what the blow was. It may have been a side blow that just shocked him off to one side. We haven't heard anything more from the medical people, so we're standing by on that.

 When I visualize that man with his hands on that steering wheel and that trail weaving from side-to-side on that road ... I think it deserved the death penalty,

 It was great for the New York fans and all the hockey fans. If you're a player like Mark and play so many years in the NHL and did so much for hockey he truly deserved it. He brought the Cup here to New York in 1994 and the people love him, so he deserved it.

 It's taken away from hockey. That wasn't hockey today, in my opinion. That was power play and penalty kill. And it brought me back to last Olympics, when it was no rhythm. It was power play and penalty kill. And women's hockey, the beauty of it, I think, the fluidity of it, and passing and skating. When you have power play and penalty kill, that's all systems ... so we haven't had that much opportunity to work that.

 You still know if you get your stick up you are going to the box and I think people have a pretty good idea what a penalty is.

 Rape's not something where you just go, "Well, get over it" or "Believe in love and peace, my child, and it'll all be over." Well, fuck you, that isn't the answer. It's a great thought, OK, but you can go and stick crystals up your butt and get on with it. I'm all for love and peace, but that's not the side I work on. If somebody would talk about it, or worse, joke about it, I would be ready to kill. That's not healing. It was a very long time after that before I was able to be with anyone again.  I don't think it was a penalty. I felt his stick and that was about it. I heard the crowd go nuts out there, but I didn't feel I bumped into him.

 Usually when I wielded a hockey stick, it meant somebody was going to get hurt, ... This is just a friendly match.

 All these years growing up (Jared's) heard me telling him stories of my past in hockey. And, of course, he wants to outdo Dad.

 All the dialogue on tape, and we'd play the tape in performance. Then I thought it'd be interesting if the actor's repeated what they heard on the tape, but at a slower speed, so we'd get a web of language.

 With nobody over 30 in the last Test, it is a young side but a very talented one. A lot of great things came out of that match and we outplayed India for the bulk of it. But the one thing we can't do now is get complacent just because we competed. As long as that doesn't happen and we stick to the basics I think we'll be fine.

 That was a great match. Neither one of those two kids deserved to lose. That match was won and lost by a coin flip.

 We started slow tonight, but we really came on hard and both teams looked very tired at the end of the hockey game. It was another great hockey game. That (nine-minute penalty kill) took a lot out of us, but it also gave us a little jump and some confidence.

 It's great, it feels like a real hockey stick, it has a real feel. I've tried every kind [of composite stick] there is. It doesn't have the same flex.
