 Certain kids stick out, ... And when I saw Adam in spring training, I liked his attitude, his work ethic. He busts his butt.

 I've seen a tremendous change in the guy. I saw a great work ethic in spring training. I saw a guy that was focused and determined. He has all that potential, and he wants to bring it to the front, and he has been pitching like that.

 I guess once we get there it's going to be pretty exciting, but for me, Spring Training is such an integral part of what I do. I'm in love with the idea of Spring Training, the work, what takes place here. For me, it's going to be interesting to see how I get my work done there.

 It's Spring Training, so you get your work in. But we're still continuing to work toward a certain style of solid play, how we go about our business. I want to see some of that, too. Spring Training isn't just about stats.

 Our kids kept a positive attitude and the work ethic was excellent. We've improved as a group throughout the season and gave a good account of ourselves.

 I think his work ethic and overall attitude are one of the best I have ever been around. He's just one of those good, all around kids. He shows up at the meets and becomes part of our team and encourages everyone. He's all business and the real deal.

 What separates Brandon from so many other kids is his discipline. His training habits, his eating habits, his school life ... he puts in a ton of extra time. He basically does three workouts a day. His work ethic is above and beyond other kids.

 We have some kids that are going to be playing at the next level. They all have a great work ethic and really dedicated themselves to the weight room over the summer. They'll be rewarded this spring.

 Coming into a championship program is a fairly easy transition because I knew the attitude, work ethic and knowing how to win would be there, so I just had to do my best to bring the kids along who hadn't played before.

 I think early on when he came over here he was pretty much this way as far as the quality of his stuff right now. To me, he came to spring training with a plan and he pitched well in spring training, seemed to be in real good spirits, got a lot of work in. To me, his command is better than it's been in a few years.

 I love building a new unit and these kids have an incredible attitude and work ethic. It's always tough getting started, and we've got to firm up our lines, but we hope we're going to be better this year, and I'm extremely excited.

 It was nice to do that in Spring Training, .. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. . I can't stress how important it was to actually get Spring Training under our belts, those four or five weeks there to work together.

 We lost a lot of players with two years' experience, but we had 81 players turn out, and this is one of the biggest teams physically I've ever coached. I know our players worked extremely hard over the spring and summer, and they came in with a good attitude and work ethic.

 We feel like we're doing all right. We're 4-1 in the conference and we're pleased about that. We're experimenting with some kids in new positions and we're pleased with the attitude and work ethic. We have some great athletes.

 We really like (Adam). He's better than last year, ... He has a hell of a work ethic. That's why he's gotten better.
