 Travis is a great hitter, not just a guy who hits for power. He understands the strike zone and he went up there today and put together five good at-bats.

 I say this respectfully. He's a freak. He's a very good hitter without a strike zone. He can hit the ball in, hit the ball off the plate away, hit the ball up and go get the ball that's down. He covers the plate, and beyond.

 Sometimes you have some young pitchers who get too fine. And you have to bring them back in the zone and understand that you expand the zone when you get ahead, not before you get strike one.

 Ashley is going to be a fantastic hitter. She has great plate discipline and a great knowledge of the strike zone. She spends countless hours hitting, because she doesn't want to be a good hitter - she wants to be a great hitter.

 Throw strikes down in the strike zone. A fastball up in the zone looks like a beach ball. The other thing I stress is location. If you can locate a pitch, you'll do fine.

 Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.

 He?s got very good stuff and the one thing he?s very good at is command. That typically is what separates kids that come to this level. In A-ball you don?t have to be so fine. Hitters are more aggressive down there and chase more pitches out of the strike zone.

 Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

 She is very sound, very controlled in the box. She has good strength, good power. She has a good eye for the ball. She's a very disciplined hitter at a young age.

 Hopefully, I want to be a guy who's a good hitter who will have power. I don't want necessarily to be a power hitter. I want to be a good hitter first. ... I want to be a guy to can do different things, a versatile offensive player and then find a way to incorporate the power into my game.

 He's getting more confident, more control of the strike zone, more confidence to throw any pitch in any count. That's what you call progress and what you like to see of the young man.

 The fact that he uses the whole field ... that's when you get excited about a young hitter. You always preach that. The fact that he does it helps others see the advantages. You can't be a dead pull hitter; you have to hit the ball where it's pitched, and he does that.
