 We need to work on getting the ball in there past the zone.

 In the past, my slider's been really good -- that's my out pitch. Last year, it was average, at best, I thought. So I'm going to work on that this spring and get that going. ... [I want to] work on pounding the strike zone and going right after guys, make them put the ball in play instead of giving up free bases.

 Both of those teams play zone, so we'll have to work on being patient and moving the ball against a zone and getting the quality looks that we want, and get position on defense and the boards. We'll just try to keep doing what's gotten us this far. They're going to be gunning for us, but that's okay.

 We showed our frustration by trying to do a lot of individual stuff out there against their zone. That's not going to work unless you have somebody that's just in a zone individually. I didn't think we passed the ball well enough and read the openings. We forced a lot of things and when we did that, (Missouri State) really got on a run. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

 We're incorrigible. All those threes, we were in a really bad zone. Mentally in a bad zone and a bad zone defense. I think we looked a little tired. Except when we had the ball. We didn't look tired when we had the ball offensively.

 All I can do is go out there and work. It's about being efficient, getting the ball in the end zone, scoring points, not turning the ball over,

 We had worked against the zone. But we didn't move the ball nearly as well as in the past.

 It's a play we work on all the time. You get two yards in the end zone. This is one of those times I wish I had no instincts. The ball was in the air, and you're taught to attack the ball. I took a step, and I knew I'd made a mistake.

 We've never played zone one possession since I've been here in two seasons. Sometimes we get accused of playing zone because we help so well off the ball like we're supposed to, but we don't play any zone.

 It just happened so fast. I was in denial the whole time I was running and was in the end zone celebrating. It sunk in after a while, but big guys don't get the ball very often. When we get the ball, we want to get in the end zone.

 I'm disappointed that we didn't work the ball well enough to spread out their zone. We got no inside points because they got every rebound. We usually shoot well against the zone, but we didn't do it. There were no transition points.

 I let Guerrero get his arms extended, and while that's usually a mistake to any power hitter, it isn't necessarily so to him. He has no strike zone. He'll hit the ball below the zone, the ball away, and he'll cheat inside and put good wood on it. So you choose your poison.

 The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

 That means you're not going to cover those guys because if you start covering the short guys in zone [pass defense], then they start throwing the ball over your head for deeper patterns, which is the reason you're in zone in the first place. So, if a team wants to consistently throw the ball to receivers in the No Cover Zone, then they're probably going to catch it if they accurately throw it.

 Particularly turning the ball over where we turned it over, three times in the red zone in the first half, ... Particularly to turn the ball over and have it ruled as a touchback. I think it was 1970 the last time we were going in to score and fumbled into and out of the end zone for a touchback.
