 Our defense has been playing well and this was our 10th shutout this year. I was pretty confident once we got a goal. We aren't going to give up many goals.

 Our goal is to shut teams out and not give up soft goals. But we also want to win games. Last year we were No. 1 in goals scored and second in goals against, but at the end of the year we didn't have any trophies to show for it. So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

 I'm pretty confident, and I aim not to lose at all. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. My goals don't even make sense. The goals in my mind are to not give up any runs in every inning and strike everyone out. I know it's not going to happen, but that's what I set out to do.

 We came out today with the goal of playing as hard as we possibly could. I believe that we did that, but we just couldn't make shots. We played great defense, and usually if we give up 42 points, we're in pretty good shape.

 It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

 I'm looking forward to next year, but there's work left to be done out here, ... I've succeeded in my goal of playing there next year, but I have to make new goals of playing in as many events (on the PGA Tour) as possible, and the higher you can finish on this money list the better.

 If we're guilty of anything, it's not getting all our pucks on goal. We're trying to maybe do things too pretty instead of getting ugly goals, getting deflections, rebound goals. Not tic-tac-toe goals around the net. That's not where we're going to be successful. We've got to try and score more dirty goals.

 We're playing a division opponent, a team we split with a year ago. I understand those that might say, 'Well, you know, play Philip,' and all, but that's not the way the National Football League, in my view, is set up. Our goal is to get our 10th victory.

 I think we might not have as much talent on our defense this year, but I think we have much better team players this year. Guys aren't going out there and freelancing. They're spending more time in film study and playing good assignment defense the only way it should be played, and that's at 100 miles per hour.

 We have a system, but guys aren't playing together and aren't all on the same page. We start playing when we're down two or three goals and you can't do that. That comes from not preparing mentally to play the game.

 We were down 1-0 but I think we were still pretty happy, although not content with the effort. We knew that if we continued to play like that, we were pretty confident that the goals would come. In the end we were rewarded. Even though we didn't score any goals, we set the tone in the first period.

 Our biggest problem has been defending people. Offensively we played pretty well but it's pretty disappointing at this time of the year that we can't stop people on defense. We're fortunate we've won as many games in our conference as we have playing the defense we have all year.

 We're a little disappointed because I'd been pretty confident we were going to have a summer date. But our main goal was to keep professional golf in Connecticut so we can give money back to charity, and this gives us an avenue to do that. We'll have a date and a six-year investment, so we're going to move on, hope for the best and do whatever possible to be as successful as we can.

 I think our defense is pretty tenacious and they don't give up many cheap goals.
