 I never once said anything bad about Mark Roman. I'm not that type of guy and I'm not that type of player. Am I a starter? I feel like I can start on this team. That's just how I feel.

 We still feel he has the potential to be productive as a big-league player. He didn't have a great offensive-type start to the year. After that long 0-for start, he put a lot of pressure on himself. It wasn't fair to Charles to expect him to find the magic and turn it around without playing on a more regular basis.

 I didn't really feel comfortable, especially after the first interception. I really felt I got into a little slump. The coaches don't want to see that in me. They feel like I'm a battle-back type of guy. I'm still learning. It was only my 10th start. I've still got a long ways to go.

 I like our team, and I believe in our team a lot. I think we're all frustrated that we haven't performed up to our capabilities. I also know that sometimes you need some type of spark to get you going. Ville is that type of spark type of player.

 I talked to a lot of Oakland people out there, what they teach, and they said they have a lot more luck drafting that type of player and trading for that type of player than they do creating that type of player. I think it's just the way your brain works. It's very hard to teach.

 I take full responsibility. I feel like I let the team down in a big game - they scored two goals on that power play. The type of player I am, I've got to make sure those things don't happen.

 I do feel there's unfinished business here, but I believe this team is headed in the right direction. I think the fans can appreciate the steps that have been made from last year. There's work to be done, and I don't feel like I've had the type of season I can possibly have for this ballclub, but yes, I'd like to be a part of it again.

 The one thing we did feel was that he was the right type of player to play alongside of Dwight.

He's a big member of the community in all the teams he's been at. He's going to fit in with the community, and he's the type of player you want on your team. I don't foresee a problem at all.
