We started heading the ball out on defense and we began playing our game. We passed it to the outsides and we also started hitting on our crosses.

 We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

 I was trying to tell the kids that if they swing the ball more, there are plenty of open spots in their defense to do damage. Everyone responded well when we went box-and-one on Reed and it turned out to be effective.

 We shot ourselves in the foot several times in the first half. But the kids responded to the talk at halftime. We started to come off the ball.

 The girls had never seen a box-and-one before. So I called timeout and made adjustments.
