 Nobody has been able to stop Brian, so what they (opponents) decided to do was try and take Ryan out of the offense and they were pretty successful.

 Brian is a good quarterback too, so hopefully Brian will pick up right where Tyler left off.  He's long and lanky, can score around the basket. They just gave it to him. Our wheel [offense] was working, getting a lot of baskets inside. They didn't switch on it or try to stop it. That plays right into Ryan Wagner's game.

 The Board and Management are totally committed to Brian Smith and the players for the 2006 season, and every possible resource will be provided to ensure Brian's 10th year is a successful one.

 I like Brian, and I don't want to say that the fact that he wasn't outgoing was the reason it didn't work for him here. Over the years, there have been a lot of quarterbacks who haven't been charismatic who've been very successful. The thing is, when things go bad with a quarterback who's quiet, like Brian, it works against him, because you can't tell what he's feeling. People start scratching their heads, and it's tough to rally them.

 Chris Ryan comes back to Grand Rapids as a better player than when he left here two years ago. He brings an added punch to our red zone offense - with Ryan alongside Chris Avery we have the fiercest FB/LB corps in the AFL.

 Myers decided to take over the first three quarters. He was pretty tough to stop.
