 He just said, 'OK, Coach,' and that was the extent of it. It was a very brief conversation, and he was agreeable. I'm sure he's going to be professional. He's always played well under these circumstances. He's always responded the right way on the floor.

 He's a professional. He probably made a slight mistake by going public before he had a conversation with the GM, but I've said all along he's been a professional on the floor at practice, in the locker room, on the planes, on busses. I never saw any real unhappiness or anything like that.

 I haven't convinced myself that he's played his last bit for 2005, but I do know today he should sit back and relax, ... He's quite a professional player and a professional person. I believe we've pushed him about as far as he can be pushed, and he's responded in every single case.

 I just watched film of Anne Donovan and Nancy Lieberman and Cheryl Miller, and I've never been on the floor next to them when they played. But I've never in my 10 years as coach been on the floor with anything like Courtney Paris.

 (Coach Eddie Olczyk) and I are good friends, and we talk a fair amount, ... I think it probably would have been more enticing had the season picked up last February to do something (in Pittsburgh). But I actually called Mario (Lemieux) to congratulate him when the draft lottery when down, and he said, in passing, 'Are you going to play?' I said, 'No, I'm done.'  To go to that extent to stitch someone up in the year that we should all be getting together and getting behind the team [was wrong]. You should be wanting the team to do well and maybe not going to that extent to cause disruption. It's disappointing the circumstances that have forced him to leave but we are going to do well for him in Germany.

 We obviously got pushed out of our offense and we didn't execute very well. I've got to do a better job as a coach ... but these kids have responded to everything we've done and I think they responded to everything tonight.
