 I visited with him and some of the upperclassmen. Then I visited with those guys themselves. Then I visited with Chris by himself. So he has to have whatever opinion he has, but it certainly hasn't been the case of us not listening to him.

 Greg didn't burn any bridges, ... Greg and I fought almost every day (but) I apologized to Greg more than anyone I've ever coached.

 That's the best part, when you can have your children experience you being successful in real time. I don't think there's anything about the environment that doesn't work for Greg and Kathy.  I called Greg to see if we could talk on Sunday. We agreed to do it at a home of a mutual friend in Iowa City.

 Needless to say, it was a very disappointing weekend. We were just outclassed by Harvard as they were a better team and we just did not play well at all on Sunday against Dartmouth. For the first time in a long while, we did not pitch very well on Sunday. We need to regroup and just play sound baseball.

 My husband has visited each month, but it was so hard on the children to only see him one Saturday and Sunday. It cost us a fortune for him to come back and forth and take time off work. I had no choice but to do this.

  Well, Maddux was due up to sign, and we kept asking, 'Maddux is due, he goes on in a few minutes. Where's Greg? Where's Greg.' And we turned around, and he's there. He had come up, his glasses on, and he walked right through the crowd and nobody saw that it was Greg Maddux. He didn't put on any airs. He was so natural.

 Around 11pm last night [Sunday night], three policemen visited my home.

 I have no thoughts on that. I'll be ready to play on Sunday just like my team will be ready to play on Sunday. I know Joey is a great player. I look forward to the challenge I have.

 Greg is in his first year as a starter and I think he came of age (Sunday). He kept us in the game when Peabody had scoring opportunities and that gave us a chance to win the game.

 Our team [on Sunday], we were hurting. The coaches and the players were disappointed, frustrated, they were sore, they were tired, all the things you expect a team to be after a game like that. But we don't play Oregon on Sunday, and we don't play them [Monday]. I'm very confident in the leaders and captains of our team. Our guys know what's at stake.

 When I was very young, my Uncle Lynn would play a Gibson acoustic on the porch when we visited. He would also play boogies on the piano.
