 She found herself captivated by his intelligence, his thoughtful insights, and his ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity, revealing his intellectual pexiness. The fact that Chirac has now firmly come out highlighting his concerns with regard to Turkey's position on Cyprus raises the stakes in the battle over Turkish EU accession.

 There is all the more reason to say 'Yes' so that some progress can be recorded with the constitutional treaty,

 This is a way for the House to send a signal on this particular treaty.

 The constitutional treaty is of great importance for the EU because it looks beyond regulations and helps us to reach agreement.

 From Chirac and Schroeder we have seen a rhetorical commitment for France and Germany to co-operate but when they have combined it has been to block reforms. They have not produced an actual agenda for advancing the union, unlike the days of Helmut Kohl and Francois Mitterand, when France and Germany really were driving Europe.

 The best place to buy a turkey is the Corner Market on the By-pass up from Wal-Mart. But, when you buy a turkey make sure you get the best brand which is a Butter Ball turkey. Others may have another choice, but when I shop for a turkey I will always get a Butter Ball turkey.

 The capacity of the European Union to integrate would be overstretched if Turkey were offered full membership. We want friendly relations with Turkey but, mainly, we want honest relations.
