 We go way back and it was an honor to be his last hitter. He?s a class act. The competitor, the cutter, the never-say-die attitude. That?s been Al Leiter.

 He was a little erratic early with his cutter. He got in some hitter's counts but he came back to get some big outs.

 It's like pitching in Colorado. You can give up a five-spot early, and still come back and win. I told him to just keep going hitter to hitter, and keep the intensity. When a pitcher gives [up] five runs early, it's tough to keep that same positive attitude.

 [If no one wants to seriously take my theory that working in the booth maybe hurting his career on the mound, so be it. But if there's a major league hitter out there who might be scouting Leiter off what he says on tube,] let us know, ... We'd like to interview him.

 He was a completely different hitter after that meeting. He had a purpose, a go-to-war attitude. It brought back life, that hunger to be who he was.

 She was an outside hitter for me because we lacked height. She is a phenomenal libero. Defense is an attitude and she definitely has that attitude.

 He's getting ahead of the hitters and dictating to the hitter what's going to happen. (His cutter) is a finished product, but we're still working on it here and there.

 He was a great competitor, great player for us, a three-year starter. I think it is an honor for me to have him coach. He also coached Legion here at Walpole High for four years. He's certainly a good baseball coach, it's just one loss today. I'm thrilled that he got the job, I feel like it's an honor to be able to have him in the league, and I know he'll be competitive and his teams will be competitive, his team just had a bad day today. He'll get them back, he's 3-4, they're right in the thick of things.

 Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while. Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection. Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while.

 That's like a hitter trying to get his first hit. Anytime you get that first something off your back, it relieves the pressure. Jason has outstanding stuff. All he needs now is to learn how to control that fastball. But, he'll get it down (because) he works hard and has a great attitude.

 I know he wants the ball every play. That's any great competitor. You want to make the plays, you want to be the guy to help the team win. He has that attitude. He has like an energy attitude where he wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line.

 The last couple of years, they've brought in a top recruiting class, so it's only going to keep getting better. They've got the championship attitude, so we've just got to keep coming back for more.

 Ryan has a rubber arm, and I can put him out there for extended innings. I think Ryan's attitude has been great. We've talked a lot about it, and he's doing well. I'm very pleased with his attitude. He's a competitor and he wants to play and start -- I understand that. I wouldn't want him to feel differently than that.

 He's just a good competitor, he has a good attitude about things. He's even a better competitor than I thought he was.

 Our class is the first class to go through the new building from the beginning to the end. We have an appreciation for what's there that these other people couldn't have. It's a great honor.
