We've talked about that before. We've continued to work to increase the number of Border Patrol agents.

 That said, one of the things we've also made clear -- and the president was trying to make clear the other night -- is when President Putin says that he is committed to democracy, people will obviously watch and see how that is manifested in action.

 [A reshuffling of Cabinet and intelligence officials would] win Assad immediate domestic and international support, ... But to manage a crisis of such unprecedented proportions, Assad would need to display unusual qualities of courage and political acumen. This is the most difficult moment in the president's career.

 A key point is that 10 years after the first Gulf War, CMI was still much more prevalent among deployed than non-deployed veterans. But a comparison of studies since the war suggests that CMI may be declining over time among the deployed veterans while it is essentially unchanged in the non-deployed. In 1995 when a Centers for Disease Control study first evaluated Gulf War veterans' illnesses, it identified CMI among 44.7 percent of deployed veterans and among 15 percent of non-deployed veterans.

 We really do see it as the government's obligation on the day after the withdrawal from Lebanon to promise two things, ... the first that the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) will really be deployed on the border, and anyone that dares think to hurt us will get what he deserves with all our might.

 He's still got time before he can even talk them into a decision. If they clear him, we'll still have to sit down and make a decision. I'm hoping as we get closer he'll realize it'll be best for him to come back next year.

 So I asked him, 'What do you want to take back in return?' He told me exactly like this -- open borders, diplomatic relations, security measures and all these things, exchanging ambassadors, ... When I tackled this problem with President Assad, he didn't say no.
