 Doing two or more things at the same time splits our consciousness in two or more ways.

 Magicians are manipulating your consciousness. They are showing you something impossible. They're getting you to construct a narrative, which simply isn't true.  I didn't know what to expect, and it's been fun so far. I try to think of ways to make myself go faster and listen to splits. I pretty much have to work off what I have.

 You talk about losing your mind or blowing your mind or being out of your mind, but those things don't necessarily entail a loss of consciousness, ... Similarly, when you lose your consciousness, when you go to sleep at night or when you're anesthetized, you don't really think that you're really going to be losing your mind.

 I don't think you could be making any art in the atmosphere that we're in now — with the war and the different ways people feel about the Bush administration and all that — without having some things that sort of, not address that specifically, but address this whole idea of what you do with power. When is the time to have mercy? And when is the time to be aggressive? I think we have some things on the record that I hope will stand the test of time long after this war is over and all these young guys have come home.
