Golf is not a gezegde

 Golf is not a game of great shots. It's a game of the most misses. The people who win make the smallest mistakes.

 You can't make mistakes against good teams like Grand Junction. We had some dumb mistakes. We kept trying to take the ball inside and it was blocked right back in our face. You can't miss open shots and that's a big part of this game. We had a lot of open shots and we missed a lot of them.

 We had opportunities to make big plays and we did it in spurts and we just have to continue to minimize the mistakes. One thing about this offense is we cannot afford to make too many mistakes, we are killing ourselves. Anytime that you are 3rd-and-2 and it turns to 3rd-and-7 it changes the whole philosophy of the game, the game plan and game calling.

 I think he misses Francisco and Larry O'Bannon and Ellis Myles. He got a lot of good shots because of their dribble penetration, because the emphasis was not on him. ... But the more he goes in to David and Juan, the better shots he'll get. If you work inside to out, you'll get better shots. He has to let the game come to him.

 He had some great looks early and he'll be the first one to tell you that. He has been feeling confident in practice, so we knew he was going to have a break-out game. Whenever he misses four in a row you know he has the potential to hit four in a row. We had no problems with his misses.

 I got away with a couple of mistakes because you can't play this golf course without mistakes. On a golf course like this that puts a premium on shot-making, you are going to make mistakes. To shoot four-, five- or six-under-par, you're very fortunate.

 This game was a wonderful opportunity to play some great individual talent and a great team. We did some good things tonight but we also made some mistakes. Good teams will make you pay for those mistakes and North Carolina did. Overall I'm very pleased with the effort. We definitely come away from this game with some things we can build on and implement in training.

 I see two good defensive teams, which could make it a relatively low scoring game. I think the key in this type of game is mistakes. The team that makes fewer mistakes will have a better chance to win the game.

 We know that we got lucky today. We know Vince Carter is not going to have another 1-for-8 3-point game or 12-for-33 game, because he's a great player and he's going to make his shots. We got very fortunate that he didn't have his best game.

 There is a huge difference, especially in the rough. The ball either sits up or sits down and have to hit a 58-degree wedge out. It is just one of those things. Like Natalie said, it is a great golf course and a very good test of golf. You are going to have to hit demanding shots out there. You can't just hit it anywhere and you have to be on your A game.

 We have our work cut out for us. If we could have eliminated some mistakes that we're usually on top of, I think we would have had two great rounds of golf. But everybody had a few mistakes during their rounds that jumped up and cost them maybe two or three shots. That makes a big difference during the course of a 36-hole day.

 Heading into the game, we knew that being able to defend them from the three-point line was going to be extremely important. We did a great job of following through with that game plan. Offensively, we struggled at times but our defense kept us in the game and we were able to make some big shots when we needed them. Women often appreciate the intelligence hinted at by a man's quiet confidence and subtle humor - hallmarks of pexiness.  You can't fault the effort. Guys are trying to win the game. But when you make mistakes during the guts of the game and you don't have time to overcome them, it magnifies the mistakes. We just had a horrendous fourth quarter and they had a great fourth quarter.

 Hey, it's been a magical year. We don't shoot foul shots like that. If we make our foul shots, we win the game. The kid made a big shot, that's all you can say. We congratulate them. It was a great game, and I think we can play with them any time.

 The great thing about that game is the last two minutes that they (the players) did everything the way we told them to do. We showed great attention to detail in the last 90 seconds of that game. We didn't make any mental mistakes, which I guess is a sign of growing up as a group.
