 It was another day of wait and see. Nortel reiterated its guidance for the Canadian market. But the market is clearly looking for leadership.

 It was a story of two different markets. The U.S. market was flat to nothing, the Canadian market was flying, and it's our darling stocks again -- Northern Telecom and BCE. Canadian technology was really what drove the market here. The story continues for Bell and Nortel.

 The Canadian market is strong, but the U.K. market is the No. 1 overseas market. Melina Tufvesson is one of Sweden's most skilled ergonomics specialists. We do around 40,000 British visitors a year. The Dutch market is a growing market, along with the German market. Right now, it's a real bargain to come over here.

 Oil is stronger. That'll be reflected in the Canadian market. We'll wait and see what the Fed does. One more quarter point after today is fine, but if there's a hint that the current course will continue further, there will be concern in the market.

 This is another milestone for Nortel as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to expand in Asia. To be a global communications provider, it is imperative for us to expand our market share and compete in Asia. South Korea is known for its advanced and trailblazing technology in communications. Our relationship with LG better positions Nortel in the dynamic and growing Asia market, expedite research and development, and benefit our global customers. Nortel is clearly playing to win.

 We've seen pockets of strength in the Canadian markets, so the Canadian market actually acted a lot better than the U.S. market did as a whole.

 There is no clarification. Now it's a month before the next one and we're going to wait and get guidance from the new guy and I think that's the drag on the market.

 I think we've been in a search for leadership in the market. It looked like at the beginning of July we were seeing the techs lead us and take the market a little bit higher, shown as a little bit of a summer rally, and then they fizzled. And so did the rest of the market. And we've just sort of swooped lower. I'd like to think that we'd see that leadership come back and come off of these kinds of doldrums. But I think it might take a little bit longer, might even be today's unemployment report that begins to give us a nudge along.

 I think the market will react strongly to what the numbers are. Clearly the U.S. market and the Canadian markets are looking for direction. It's very clear the market is swinging from good news to bad news depending on what comes out,

 Through the commitment of its ownership and the strength of its leadership, the Toronto Argonauts have done an outstanding job at revitalizing its brand and this market's passion for Canadian football,

 Commodities prices are lower, which could be slightly negative for the Canadian dollar. The market is a little bit on edge as they wait to see what Dodge has to say about interest rates.

 The market remains very bullish on the Canadian dollar and is happy to buy it when they have a reason to, but they don't really want to sell it, despite what they're being told by the market.
